Post by: SaMAlex on January 21, 2007, 08:35 PM: Ive been running a LHD for ages (as far as I know I made the first one) so I am very familier with backwards DX's. I had to swap the spindles over cos my crank arms were on the wrong side. Now you can get cranks with the drive bolt on both arms so its easy.

thats how they came so you need 2 right handed pedals.

I have seen some DX's come the wrong way round from new. And I have run right hand cranks arms on both sides before (sometimes you just gotta get your bike together). Maybe that Paralellagram DX pedal was a bad idea. Lets get back to some good old bear traps.

Post by: SaMAlex on January 21, 2007, 08:52 PM: Oh, sorry. I just read that back and it sounds like I was saying building DX's backwards was Awful. I meant Harris' Flights comming like that is awful.

One time I built a bike from new (way back when i was young). Once I had got the forks, stem, bars and seat in I turned the whole thing upside down and put the cranks and wheels on. It was only when I got it finished and tried to ride it, I found I had the cranks and the back wheel on the wrong way!!!! What a tosser!

Post by: SaMAlex on January 21, 2007, 09:04 PM: I had a set of Aeropro cranks and one of the pedal bosses had been welded in the wrong way. It was the correct thread but it didnt sit porperly and the end of the arm was all a little messy.

Strange, cos Hutch are untouchable with engineering quality, right?
