OK what is the visable differences between a mongoose supergoose3 (us) and a pro class, i thought that it was in the rear brake bridge holes on the super3 the outer 2 where round but on the pro class the outer 2 where slotted??
Can any one shed some light?
Right your given a frame stripped down to bare metal no decals, nothing. How do you tell whether that frame is a US version Supergoose 3 or a Pro class
Cheers :daumenhoch:

i thought that too
but other than that i think they look the same
although the supergoose 3 is a different shape to the cali so maybe the pro class is different to the super?
who has both?
-
I thought the Proclass had different sized tubing?
-
Oh well, we aint done this thread since last year, Ill get me comfy chair, weighing scales micrometer and a cyanide pill >:D

i dont know about geometry but the proclass has tubes that are made of different wall thicknesses to save on weight , they do look very similar though , ive only ever seen 4 of them and that was 22 years ago my mate had on he was 12 as well and he broke it three times at the toptube/seattube join in a year and got it replaced each time under warranty :wtf: they dont seem to be able to handle much punishment for general bmx street ramp riding , probably ok going round a track though
-
the down tube is thicker than the top tube on the pro class,1"1/4 (down tube) 1"1/8 (top tube)

So Is my supergoose3(us version) what are the 3 holes like in the rear brake bridge round or elongated? :daumenhoch:

weigh it
-
come on pro class owners check your brake bridges please
though i did think both bikes had round holes
and it was purely as mentioned above, the weight difference due to the thin wall pro class tubes
thats how i found out mine was n't a PC but a super :'( :( :'(
-
so it's all down to size then >:D :2funny:
-
Top tube is 90mm and the bottom tube 100mm ish and the brake bridge has round holes in it :daumenhoch:

Is stidds an early one?? coz i think they only had 1 hole,It seems it's only the weight thats different, the geometry looks the same the tubes are the same diameter, but i think i saw slotted holes in the later pro class's

Are they all round or are the outside 2 elongated? What year is it?

It has round holes. it is a 83 model.
I will try and find a pic of the brake bridge for you..

So it is exactly the same apart from weight as my US supergoose 3. ;)

As far as i know weight is the only difference you can tell between the two framesets.

How much lighter is IT Johnny??? :daumenhoch:

LOL, i wish i could tell you mate. Got the proclass f&f first, didnt weigh it before i built it into a bike.
Later got the supergoose f&f and sold it on again without weighing it. Sorry fella, all i can say is there is a real difference. The proclass is as light as a feather.

pro class frame is about 3lbs 13 oz and the forks are 1lb 10oz roughly ;)
sure my supergoose frame was near 6 1/2 - 7 lbs
