right now i'm confused what's the difference between world tour and pro performers
when did frames change from 3 hole drop outs to 4 holed drop outs i was led to belived 84-85 had 3 and more desirable
and 4 hole 86 on when i bought frame the guy said i was a 85 i assumed he'd got it wrong
all help appreciated

I think they changed to the 4 holes after 85.
My 85 Performer has 3 holes
Whats the serial No. ?

is this 950th one for feb 1986 or have i just totally made this up

Looks like an 86 serial number but made overseas and not in the US which is where all the complete bikes such as the World Tour etc came from. They normally have another letter after the '6' though.
I have had a few and seen a few from 85 with the following serial numbers: G5C****, G5D****, G5F****, G5J****
I think this typically translates to:
G - Overseas manufacturing code or Frame ref? (maybe for GT)
5 - Year 85
C - Month (March)
**** - Serial #
