Hi, :)
I have really enjoyed looking at the GT Pro Performer thread and would like to learn about Haro's.
So who has the oldest (all models - Master, Sport, FST, FSX, Group 1 etc) and rarest? And what's your serial?
I have T9(maybe 0)7844754M - a 1984 T = I presume Torker Built, 84 Year, M = I presume Master.
So, is this a Torker Built, 07 (July if 0 not a 9) 1984 Master, Build Number 4754? Any Help.
Any one know how to understand the serial in full?

So what have you all got? And maybe another chance to see that Gen 1. (hopefully)Â ;)

I think the Torker built Masters had the Coaster Tab under the chainstays, but Moose or Jay would be the ones to ask.
-
Mr Toad, that aint no Gen one.

Hi all
Not sure if all my text was understood. :-[
Mr Toad, that aint no Gen one.
I believe that my bike is a Gen 2, but was after any other info on the serials and also what models are rare etc, and thought it might be interesting to see how many old Haro's we have on this site, as not all are in the Museum.
When I said 'another chance to see that Gen 1', I meant Billy's, but of course would appreciate all other bikes and the history.
Sorry if I didn't make sense. ;)
Thanks

wow i never seen a red haro generation one before ;D
-
i'd sooner have that ;D.

Well I think this one was the first one in the UK. I got it off of Chris Young who won it at Harrow Skatepark along with a Haro support sponsorship.
I remember going with him to the Gecko warehouse and picking it up along with a Haro top that was miles too big, and after it cracked under the headtube gusset it was sent back for a replacment, but it turned up a couple of weeks later with a bit of extra welding on it  :(
I don`t still have this one btw, the one I`ve got now will be a replica of the one that I used on the 83 Skyway European Tour  ;)

Hmmmmm

hey bill that haro there is absolutely amazing

Check out page 8 in this freestyle section , subject HARO FREESTYLE FRAMES , its all in there .
greentoad yours is a 2nd gen master 84 made by torker.
The oldest Haro is the gen 1 freestyler .

It not as easy to date Gen 1 freestylers as it is GT's. As far as I know, nobody has managed to clearly determine what the serial numbers on the Gen 1's actually mean. It would help if someone knew production numbers (per month or total).
As for the rarest Haro, I think that honour would have to go to Jay's '84 Sport

i love posting pics of this....lol..serial no tss1118
i believe it to be an 81 torker made gen one, its my attempt at a haro replica, but it is work in progress

not sure on the date tho....cos i didnt think they made em till 82

Gen 1's were not made until '82. I'm almost positive that the serial number does not give a year date although it may give a month (perhaps, maybe, maybe not) :D
Dave, where have I seen your f&f before? It was either on ebay or someone tried to sell it in the for sale section here (or the old forum). I have pictures of it, I see the only thing you kept was the seatpost clamp
-
yeah phil bought it from jim who had previously tried to sell it in our for sale section, but it wasnt decalled then (cheers radman) but didnt get it at that time...got it after jim posted a for sale card at rom...lazychubs handed me the card (cheers rhys).
and like i said, i didnt think they made em till 82, but the serial number kinda threw me....

Hey Bill, I could be wrong here, so perhaps you could put it straight, I remember being told Craig Campbell had the first Haro sponsorship, there was certainly a big fuss about it at the time. Or at least there was in the corner shop his folks used to run ! ;D

Sorry Wiz but it was definatlly Chris Young who was the first to get any sort of sponsorship from Haro, be it only support not full factory, perhaps Craig was the first to get full factory. This was in 82 I think so Craig would have only been 11 or 12 years old.
I think someone has a pic of the contest at Harrow with Chris riding his PK Ripper, it might be Fatboymal or BuffaloUK, as I remember it being on VBMX but I was banned before I could reply :(

Made in tawian in 198? who cares as they are mince better with a dp ;D but here's one i built for a mate ;)

And can we do a skyway ta? who has the oldest ?as i must be in the ballpark with an aug 83 :P
-
Those freestylers weren't released til 82/83. No-one has an 81, don't exist. Haro was riding a Torker that year and was still making number plates....

Cheers Bill, maybe it was the full factory gig then. Craig would have been 14 when he got that. I remember his brother Fraser going on about it.
I didn't know Fraser all that well but some locals reckoned he got a bit big headed about his brother, but I guess you would wouldn't you? Big brother, the top guy in the hottest craze n all that. Fraser was quite a good rider in his own right. Carlo would know him, I remember a seeing in a mag, a photo session taken at Craigs house ( I think) with both Fraser and Carlo featured.

lloydieboy....read my post properly instead of quoting it word for word, i actually stated at the bottom of my post, that i wasnt sure on the date and that i thought that they didnt make em till 82.
and you are correct bob haro was riding a torker before he got them to make the gen one

I think that means that Haro was Craigs first sponsor Dave, not that Craig was Haros` first sponsored rider. In 83 Chris Young was already on Skyway and that was after his stint as a Haro support rider. ;)

bill never dowt'ed ya mate lol.

That inset pic was taken at his house. The other side of that hedge and gate is a main(ish) road. I used to sit on the kerb opposite watching some 80's radness appear over the hedge every couple of seconds. Ah..... memories.....
