Title: Skyway Ta Shed Find
Post by: dirtyvans on February 23, 2007, 06:35 PM
I was on the tube with trill and dave chin, going to Wandsworth roundabout with our nu skool bikes to ride some street just before xmas.

This woman opposite said they are nice bikes, my sons about your age he used to ride one as a kid in the 80's, its still in my shed!

She said give me some names of bikes i'll see if i can remember, GT, PK Ripper, Skyway - Skyway thats it! Luckily Trill and dave dont collect bikes so i got her number and finally went there on wednesday. She was well chuffed with £40 as well  :)

I was hoping it would be a survivor that i could keep as is , because i regret restoring Erol Mccleans race Skyway Ta now, as it was the first oldskool BMX i picked up 5 years ago that got me back into it

its got DX's, grabber seat, pro neck stem, non original forks, bike lock! the guy who owned it was called nic crosling, anyone remember him?

Yep, somewhere in my home town there's a couple of GT Performers. One used to be mine and the other changed hands numerous times. Like old college mates, I often wonder what happened to them.
BIKES REUNITED!
Can I copyright that?

hi bud, what condition is the grabber seat in and would you want to sell it, and how much are you asking ?
wish i could come across a find like that  :tickedoff:

Post by: dirtyvans on February 23, 2007, 08:37 PM
soz dont wanna sell the seat

it was jammy benig approached on the train, my nu skool bike had a nice blue araya aero on the front and sky blue paint and polished bits, so looked a bit oldskool - might be worth adding a 'wanted oldbmx's' sticker to it :LolLolLolLol:

There's been a bit of  a mistake..bloody woman. That mother of mine has no right giving away my old bike.   I told her I'd get around to clearing out the shed this summer.  I intended to restore it soon. Please send it back to me.. :LolLolLolLol:

I actually missed a trick when Rich collected it.  He came to Charlton that night after collecting it and told me about it.  I should have made a couple of calls and kept him riding / talking at the ramp as it was outside in his truck all evening...  >:D

Maybe it would be cool to make this a "look what i found in the shed" thread, and post piccys of those really cool scores. Hopefully it will be a couple of hundred pages long by the end of the year, especially with some of the finds you guys are turning up.
