right chaps what fluids do you use to apply decals, one of my wifes little jobs this is but she is concerned this time as they are chrome decals so any suggestions will be appreciated
-
i put a little bit of soap and water in a desert bowl and apply with a sponge. The soap i use is that Carex hand wash but anything will do. I've used this on both plastic and foil decals.

Try up the decal to find the position you are happy with, then use masking tape on one end to hold it there. Then, with masking tape still holding the one end, peel off the backing and apply in small "sweeping" strokes, to eliminate any air pockets. I know peeps will suggest the soapy water method, me no likey. Ad

Get one of those spray whingies, I use an empty Window cleaner bottle.
Put one droplet of washing up liquid in the bottom and add warm water.
Make sure frame is clean and dry and free from Llama's (alcahol is gool for this as Llamas dont like booze)
Spray a fine mist of the water onto the area awaiting decals, and apply.
Move the decal into the exact position required and squeegy out as much of the water as you can with a cloth or card or something.
Put bike somewhere warm and dry to set and in about 24 hours you are ready to rock.

I didn't think the soap and water method would work at all. However I tried it and it works a traet.

i fit window tints for a living & i just use plain old tap water with a touch of baby oil, sometimes washing up liquid but remember to get rid of the excess water with a squigy or something when its in place..

I add a little fairy to some water in a plate.
and drag the sticky side of decal across the water
you can slip and slide the decal into place and smooth the air and water out

atomiser - plant sprayer, filled to top, with one-yes one! blob of fairy - this is just to break the surface tension of the h2o to stop the water balling up
the method is known as hingeing, when applying masking tape to one end, to aid positioning.
-using another piece at the other end,and then tearing through it, then taking the back off, wetting and re alligning the torn tape.
this method is a must, when applying dry
stiff felt squeegees are available, these will not scratch your new decals, but a duster wrapped around a finger is better on a tube anyway!
