Title: pumping up tyres . . .
Post by: theRuler on October 17, 2005, 07:51 AM
aaaaiiight. i got me some aero zytecs, with primo v monsters

now i like to run me tyre pressure at 75psi

thing is, anything over 45psi and there are more bulges than tim march in speedos.

whats the secret? how do i get high pressure without the tyres unrimming themselves?

all my other wheels are spokey dokey

i just fancied some mags, for that old school flava. plus they are on my wife's bike. she's only 8 stone so they dont flex for her.

when i ride it, there are more wobbles than vanessa feltz going down a spiral staircase.

Ok, a less facetious answer, seeing as it's for the little lady. Try pumping them up a little so the innertube has inflated sufficiently to fill inside the tyre. Spin the tyre and where ever the tyre is bulging, squeeze the tyre and push the bead gently inside the rim at the point where it is out of alignment. Keep repeating until the tyre spins true and then fully inflate.

i have got 70 psi in skyways with primo walls.
sans method is right tho...you do have to spin and tuck.

im 14 stone and they have not de rimmed yet.

tyre should take 85 on rims.

i think what you are all saying is:

2/10 could do better.

i will go and do just that!!! i'll get some proper psiage in 'em later, and see how they feel.

guy who ran my local bike shop and used to be manchesters skyway main dealer sed it could, if you didnt use a good quality mag. sed skyways should be ok for 60 ish....... but he sed u would not get a tyre to take that pressure.....he's retired this month he was mainly a font of os knowledge and didnt really hold much with new skool. sold it but didnt like it.

i am using the BEST quality mag - the mighty zytec.

i think we need one to test the theory on - see how much psiage it can take before she canna take nee more

an acorn magnum would be good to test on!!
