My parents sent me this picture the other day.  It is a picture of me racing in early 1982, this picture was taken at the last berm at Southampton (Solent Spitfires) track.  I am riding for SR Jets (now Bristol Bombers BMX) and it was just before I received any kind of sponsorship. 

The bike I am riding is a Yamaha BZ401 complete with Kuwahara decals  ???, the wheels are yellow Z-rims with red hubs.  Check out the really stylish Skyway padset (didn't that bike just scream class?).  Also check out the biggest race helmet in the world, what looks to be goal keepers gloves and natty deck shoes.

i had some deck shoe type things cos they looked
a tiny bit like vans Ha Ha.

and i had some with palm tree's on that we got while on holiday.i told people the vans tag had come off  ;D.

I used to have the same race helmet for a while, I think it was called a Penguin helmet. Looked massive on me aswell... see (No 306 on the DB, Wordsley 83 by the way)

Excellent pictures guys, I think we can definately assume that Hotshot race jerseys are cool and Penguin Helmets are way too big for a child to wear.  ;D

i had a maxstar helmet when i was younger

there was a nos one of them on the booty the other day £5 i should have bought it.it still had the box and mouthguard.

This is another old skool photo. Me back in 85 i think at the british champs indoor Olympia. The bike i was riding was a Diamond Back turbo lite, loved that thing.

Thats me just about to wipe out number 6 leading the 1/8's.
