Title: Mongoose Question ??
Post by: AL on March 05, 2007, 01:42 PM: I bet its been asked before ? and i have tried searching for the answer..

I have seen some early 80,s Mongoose with the sticker on the Down tube intead of the top tube ??? ???

My three have them on the top tube, but i have one frame which i got of ebay a couple of years ago ... It powdercoated black , with repro Stckers and their on the bottom tube.....

Every time I look at it , it looks wrong to me !

Whats the answer then Guys :-\

they dropped the motomag decal on the down tube and placed the main decal there

though its mongoose we're talking about so any things possible :D ;D

the stepped dropout model has it on the downtube

unlike that crappy retro reissue where it was wrong.

there was probably a crossover point where it was either or. but that is the rule of thumb. non stepped toptube, stepped downtube

but thats how mongoose made the early ones - silly sods they are :idiot2:

Ruler, a mate of mine has got some Motomags i was going to buy off him but no spare dosh at the moment, i'll try and get some pics and a price off him if you're interested?
