Title: Mongoose Question ??
Post by: AL on March 05, 2007, 01:42 PM
I bet its been asked before ?   and i have tried searching for the answer..

I have seen some early 80,s  Mongoose with the sticker on the  Down tube intead of the top tube  ??? ???

My three have them on the top tube, but i have one frame which i got of ebay a couple of years ago ... It powdercoated black , with repro Stckers and their on the bottom tube.....

Every time I look at it , it looks wrong to me !

Whats the answer then Guys  :-\

If you are talking about the BMX decal, i believe that it should always be on the top tube..

I thought that when they released the mk2 mongoose range with the stepped rear drops
they dropped the motomag decal on the down tube and placed the main decal there

though its mongoose we're talking about so any things possible  :D  ;D

as far as i understand, the non stepped pre 82 models have the sticker on the toptube

the stepped dropout model has it on the downtube

unlike that crappy retro reissue where it was wrong.

there was probably a crossover point where it was either or. but that is the rule of thumb. non stepped toptube, stepped downtube
