I went to barnhurst a few years back and took loads of pics which i've since lost but it's in a right state. jamie, one of the heath regulars told me that every time they tried to build some trails there the council tore them down. One time they came across the guys and said 'but it's a bmx track' their answer? 'it was a bmx track, now it's common land'

Nazi's

Anybody race at Wallaby(sp?), the start hill was virtually vertical then it went flat and straight back up again.  Think it was an old railway 'valley'.

the rochdale track, home of roch valley raiders  has seen better days. shame, its a brilliant track, its downhill for most of it....you can still ride it, but not race on it if you know what i mean.

I live in Clevedon which is south of Bristol nr Weston Super Mare, we had a club track that went to the dogs many years ago and got destroyed by lads on mopeds etc.......

However the track that I rode as a lad is still there and with the help of halfords, British Cycle foundation, the council and other bods, we are looking at a possible re build !!!!!

The only trouble is that we need £25k to fund it - various people are looking into grants to help !

Fingers crossed

Nick

I know 25k seems alot to raise, but if you want it bad enough you,ll raise it with enough help  :daumenhoch:
The harder bit is getting permission to have a track in the first place  :'(
Good luck with it  :daumenhoch:

apparently the old track at Bartley heath near Basingstike is still there, last time i went it was pretty overgrown & almost down to 1 worn out line  :(

why do they just ride 1 line out of everything?  :-\

If you guys have Google Erath that is a good way of checking your old tracks out.

I zoomed in on my old track from BITD and it's now just a grassy reserve :(

folkestone flyers track is still there and even the start gate is still bolted in place. no houses built on it. however mother nature has done a fine job of covering it in small shrubs and trees. i live just down the road and hopefully i can get some pics this week to post. a lot of the guys on here used to race there. even some big names like john vile. john stockwell and pete middleton even andy ruffle came down as well and of coarse little ol me won plenty of silver wear here.

I just moved to Rochdale. Is there anything to ride round here? Trails or owt?

That track looks like I could do a nice ressurection job on it if someone can get funding.

Do I have to start digging AGAIN???

The old gloucester robins track used to have a crossover at the end I think during the days of the west midlands regionals.
