Title: Redine ID
Post by: Mattdub on March 12, 2007, 08:55 PM
A mate found ( in a skip ! ) a Redline F+F . It is as follows ( no pics yet I'm afraid ) .

Chrome

4" headtube

Redline oval stamp on BB with - DSBM 40110833 .

Forks like MX/500A/600A with dropout plates fixed to front of fork legs , plates angled up slightly at ends & they don't go lower than the fork length/bottom .

I'm guessing 500A or 600A , maybe MXII/III but not many of these around in chrome .

Any thoughts ? .

I might get to see this skip find next Sat/Sun , does your MX serial go anything like above ? . All I know is the lettered ones as in RB,RC,RD,RE etc .

think mine is an "R" one mate

get the bike and get some pics up

the mx2's are really small, and the forks have extra rake!!!

redline stamped BB would mean japanese made. dsbm sounds weird as i thought/read the stamped BB went with "R's" eg: RA=1981, RB=1982 etc.

there's a thread on vbmx that is suggesting if the serial # was in the 100000's it was 1977, 200000's was 1978 etc

here it is........http://www.vintagebmx.com/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic;f=1;t=025888;p=1
