How can you tell a pair of original Skyway E-Z Bars from the fake ones ?
I bought these a couple of years ago, and never used em, are they real? did the originals have knurling on em ??? And any clues how much they are worth, if real ???

-
I had a pair on my TA and they looked just like that. Look okay to me too.
-
these are real nice and NOS, what would they be worth then ??
so, no fakes? I thought everything was copied at some time or another........ ;)
-
 dib dobs on the bars if they are real!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
and the price is right!! ;)
-
Price wise is difficult. I think I sold mine last summer for about £40 but they weren't nos and didn't have the sticker. They were in good condition though.
You don't get them very often so who knows?
Not much help sorry mate.
-
if i sell em, you have 1st dib dobs Munners :daumenhoch:

Isn't that the kind of sticker used on the MkII bars? I thought the MkI white and chrome bars had red and blue T/A style stickers on both sides of the bars and the coloured bars have the Streetbeat style EZ bars stickers?

I had the original mark one's bitd and they had the blue and red skyway stickers on. You are right! Oh man.......................... why the fook did people ever decide to copy handlebars?????? Was it worth it?
-
I had a pair of fake ones back in the day bot in Halfords I think in white, they were identical to the real one I had later on , the sticker is wrong for the bars as that decal is off the later type on the street beats.
Probably still worth £40 though considering

Doesn't mean the bars are fake, just haven't got the sticker they came with. I've got a NOS pair of Green MkI's here give me a minute and I'll get the tape measure out. :daumenhoch:

I've seen some before with the later style stickers i suppose they were just the stock left just before the EZ mk 2's and they are definately not fake, original EZ's had the knurling and as for fakes, i've never seen any that even resemble original EZ's just those cheapo 'square' style which are complete pants.
-
It may just be a sticker that was stuck on later.
Mine had no stickers on. Biagio was selling some about a year ago, with and without the stickers.
I'm sure you would be able to tell by the quality of the welds.
-
the welds are 'spot on' !

Don't know if this is any use. As exact as I can get without unwrapping my ones.

i got some fake easy's, on a fake performer with a fake sugino shaped stem, fake standing gears and fake chrome 7x's. I keep it as a lesson to ask for the serial number before a long journey. :-\
