Post by: Faze 3 on March 16, 2007, 02:30 PM
Anyone know the best was to get paint off without destroying the chrome underneath ???

Lots of coats with primer under, tried nitromorse but it just soften's it.

use more nitromors and leave it on longer

manipulate it with the scratchy side of a sponge scourer, or some scotchbrite

on some frames i have gone through 2 tins of mors, and still not got it all off
and on the other hand i have had frames where you only have to open the lid near the frame and the paint falls off quicker than a cheap hooker's pants

I made a start at the w.end, after much Nitro I got some of the paint off, to reveal pretty nice chrome ::)

Another 4 hours, and I thought a role call was required :)

Its not completely stripped, but I've broke the back of it. Need to get the forks chrome now, any body know anywhere local to me, I'm in Andover, Hants.

Whats the best way to bring chrome up to its former glory??

Message for Ruler! By the way thanks very much for all your help my project, really appreciated :daumenhoch:
