Oh, I have an account.
i have asked on here before but didnt get a definate answer :-[
i got a 1982 quads serial number 10 82 0013
I'm trying to find out if its a 4130 chromoly frame not the
usual Reynolds one.
also when exactly did the non looptail production start?
does my serial number indicate its the 13th non looptail quad ever made?
-
show me a pic, i will tell you if it is a chromo or a Reynolds
-
oli has x ray eyes you see :D.

now i know they did chromo ones i think after 85 when they re designed the frame and the top
bar went past the seatpost similar to the loopy quad
but mines the reynolds STYLE frame but very early??

looks reynolds to me, the only way to tell for sure is to strip it down and weigh it (paint off and frame only)
Chromo ended early 83 and there were very few made as they only did the chromo to use up what was left of the 2nd gen loopy frames that were made of chromo. Chances are, you have an early reynolds.
Looks rad though

so what makes you think its a reynolds?
if they did chromo untill early 83 and mine being
oct 82 wouldnt that suggest it is chromo?
or does it not work like that??
-
nope, as ai said above, the chromo was actually a loopy (second gen quad) and when they built the mk3 they built a FEW with Chromo (to use up leftover tubing) and the youngest Chromo recorded was early 83, and the rest were Reynolds.
Thus, yours is likely to be Reynolds.
-
so can someone ask for me?
