alan woods orig guidelines were that the rider had to of ridden in the 80's and now i guess 90's (ie over 30)
and that the bike had to have 1" threaded forks & caliper brakes with haro rs1 being a typical exception due to its being a 1987 bike with lugs. he did used to have a web apge that explained it all but i can't find it right now

not sure how tuff they are enforced at the meets best wait for mattdub or some one to confirm really

you'll be fine riding anything really as long as you dont win,  ;D  if you think you might win  then your gonna need a bike with caliper brakes and 1 inch threaded forks with no extra additional modern equipment on your ride ie clipped pedals etc..

For our Summer old school series the rules are

1" threaded forks
Caliper brakes with pitbulls as an exception
20" wheels
minimum of 80% old parts, which gives you the chance to use modern consumables like brake blocks, tyres, chains, cables etc.
No age restriction either way, if an elite rider wants to race us, then thats down to them, personally I cant see the point, but hey, if they wanna get beat by a 40 year old >:D

Hope that helps, It has been adapted from Alans and MK last year :daumenhoch:

Two out of three ain't bad but wrestling with the 80% rule re bikes.  I'm not chasing titles, just out for a bit of exercise and some laffs so you'll have to excuse whatever I ride and make allowances for an old fool in Old Skool.  If I beat you guys by 'cheating' then you should complain, but rest assured there are very few of you I can beat.  I'll only ride the rounds at EA tracks and Hersden anyway as I have duties at South Region tracks.  Humps
