Title: Skyway issues... help & advice wanted please.
Post by: othomas2 on March 23, 2007, 11:07 AM
I've been having some pretty bad clicking within the bearings of my rear skyway hub... it was all serviced, regreased new bearings etc.

By hand span freely and smoothly, but once fitted, still the noise was evident. Yesterday riding along flat ground something gave way and the axle bent pretty badly !! I've spripped it all and nothing different other than a bent axle.  :( It's never been overtightened at all... all setup correctly.

SEE PICS... I've been informed this isn't an issue but what do you think of the cracking/grazing shown here. I think this is where the problem lies and is in fact what needs replacing if possible ? This is what's causing the friction/clicking I think.

Are these bearing casings removable and can replacments be found ?? Also need a new axle too. :(

Any help on the issue would be much appreciated... ready to sling it in the bin shortly... shame as it's a real clean skyway tuff !!
