that pound looks like a fake
I agree, you can even see the scratches where someone else has sussed its made of lead :wtf:
-
yeah but if yer mug enough to buy a pound for 2 quid who cares?
-
fook me, that dodgy pound went for £17.66, plus £1 p&p....
WTF - If you get a dodgy pound, instead of trying to pass it in your local boozer, stick it on the bay and some mug will buy it.
I love the question posted (or more so the answer)....
Q: This coin is not a minting error - as i'm sure you know, it is a cheap forgery
A: What do you mean a cheap forgery? & also your saying that I know? If it was as you say a cheap forgery then It still has a minting error & if I was to know, I would have listed it as such & if it is ,it's a bloody good 1 because the paint dosn't come off like some lead painted 1's I saw 10 or so years ago. Thank you for bringing that to my attention now Sniff my scampi fries

funny story ....... i went into a newsagents and bought some stuff , a couple of miles up the road i realised id paid for it with my test coins for work which where fakes , so i had to go back to the shop and tell them id paid for my goods with fake coins and could i please have them back as i needed them for work , so i had to sift through thier coins and recover the fakes then repay them with real currency ,, them fakes are rare treasures in my game and the look on the face of the woman was priceless :LolLolLolLol:
-
i remember the work's canteen giving me change for my lunch once. checked my change when i got back to my desk and noticed that instead of a 1 pence piece i was given a similar looking brown coin. on further inspection, it was a 60's Florin. I looked it up on the net and one place was selling them for £6 and offered me £4 for it. Was never gonna make me rich but would have been a free few quid, but i lost it. :idiot2:
-
The coins I have collected in my till over the years amazes me, I must have a box with about a hundred mixed coins in it that the girls have taken over the years! Mostly pesatas but a few little gems including a florin.
-
i found a roman coin in a flower bed once and took it to a coin dealer and he said it was a fake. Cheers i said and dropped it into the next flower bed i walked past, and so it goes on, i expect that dealer sees that same coin about once a month :buck2:
