I stripped this yesterday so that the frame, forks and bars could go to thier new owner. It's the first of my builds that I've stripped down and I have to say that as soon as I started, I began to regret it. :'( :'(
I sold it because after buying 2 of the 'raw' ones that came up for sale recently, I figured 5 streetbeats was too many for any man. ;D I only wish I had the money and space to keep them all.
Have any of you regretted selling something?

do you know phil i was gonna post the same thread yesterday....
ive regretted every item and complete bike ive ever sold...only ever done it to fund the next project.....but how crap does it feel to box that thing up and let the parcel force man take it away
the thing that i regret selling most of all tho is the set of metal hubbed red tuffs i had.....

The supergoose 2 i sold for thirty quid in 86 count?
but yeah, everything that goes is hard to let go of.
-
Bob, it all counts
I haven't regretted selling anything as much as this. I had a little 'pang' of regret selling an '84 Master, but I hadn't built it up and knew it was going to a good home. By the time I'd knocked the last BB cup out I knew I shouldn't have sold it.
-
84 performer in 86 for £60
84 performer in 04 for £180
signed senna photo
-
did the bars go moose lol.
-
Vulture!! ;D Yes the bars went as well.
-
Yes regreted selling my Hutch Trickstyler. I think about that one everyday but it went to a good home and is now cruising around Hollywood so thats ok.
Probably a few more things I may regret in the future but as long as someone gets more use and enjoyment out of them than me I am quiet happy :)
-
its the bits left over when u sell a frame that are the saddest.
-
regretting selling my body once, to a gang of eight FEMALE models when stuck for abit of cash in my student days, still mentally scarred to this day ;)

true

They do look rather sad at the minute, but they will be used again on something.
It's the first time I've removed Tioga Sealed bearing BB cups and even though I used a copper drift, they have still come out a little scarred as they're light alloy.

I'm not usually a regretful person but the Prolite still haunts me.
-
I haven't sold any of my os bikes as i know i would regret it. Sold a few new skool bikes to finance other things as they just dont have the same appeal. Oh yeah let my sister sell her TA for £10 around 88.
-
Regretted selling lots of stuff in the dark days 91-95 stuff like rippers for £40 performers would only get £15 and tuffs well you had to pay to get rid of them.
if only i hadn`t sold my Delorian to that freaky looking american dr Brown i could go back and ....................................................

Ive not really regretted anything because ive always made money..
If you get a good price it really softens the blow.
-
My Puch Murray 360!!! Damn it there must be 1 in the world somewhere!!!!
Back of the net with that Avatar Tefore by the way!!
-
Pink GT Performer. Platform welded at middle of toptube not near top. Sold for peanuts at the time, can't even remember what replaced it.
Bully Bashguard. Some local Canning Town nippers in '93 probably never knew what they'd got, but I needed space & money.
KHE forks, the ones with aluminium parts and chrome legs. Again, money space & no need for them.
Kuwahara ET. Practically gave it away because someone I knew had his bike stolen and needed a replacement.
And finally...
My much cared-for white Hutch Trick Star with pegless forks. Traded it for a Haro Sport in about '86 because it looked nice and BMX Plus! said it was the best bike around in some poll or other. Jason Ellis from Hull, one lucky git.
-
freeagent freeswtyler frame and forks .sold it to moose as soon as i got it and regretted it ever since as it was very different

:'(
-
i nkow it is in good hands moose .just atill regret it as i didnt even get to open the box and have a look at it in the flesh either.when will i see it fully restored and built????
-
It'll probably be next year - one or two of the parts I want to build it with, might be a bit of a challenge to get hold of. Although I got the one I thought would be the hardest (the stem) :)
-
well mine was letting me bro have me kuhie freestyler
as i found beer and birds .and he sold it for a fiver
with green tuffs and top quality stuff on it
-
I should have never sold my 84' Skyway! :'(
[attachment deleted by admin]
-
regrets? ive had a few. wish i kept hold of my GHP pro BITD, or at least the rare VDC robinson bars that were on it ive seen another pair, but this is the beauty.......wait for it.......I sold in 1993 a skyway TA with renthal bars, araya aeros, elina seat, pro-neck stem, DX pedals and..............HUTCH AERO CRANKS! for the princely sum of....
£10 oh how i laugh now :(
-
I now regret selling my Leisure Wheels Tornado £230 new in 82 bought for £110 s/h sold 4 years later for £60 had Robinson pro bars, arayas wiv bullseye hubs. They were built by Steve Wilson and mine was 2nd one built with revised geometry that became production set up. How rare would this be now. Think I stickered it as a Torker 280. Doh!
-
here a good one hutch aerospeeds i sold for £50 as i didn`t have any 3 peice pedals at the time :o
Ohhh dear. :'( :'(. Thats gotta hurt.
It's not so bad when you know what ever you let go ihas gone to a good home.
My only regret was packing in riding back in the late 80's when it became fasionable to do grinds and fcuk you bike up >:(
-
in 1987 i gave away my mongoose pro class with skyway graphite wheels to a poor kid on the estate who didnt have a bike as i thought i would never use it again & thought it was worthless & i was too old to ride anymore... :'( :'( :'( :'( :'(
-
I regret selling my 1990 GT Pro Freestyle tour F/F in sweet day-glo pink and a one in GT blue. I really wish i would've kept those cause i learned my Hitchikers on them.
It's not all that dark though, this year i bought back my first set of 180mm Redline flights sold in 1995. Hooray!
-
i sold a gen one haro freestyler in 1990 for about 20 quid.
i cant remember if it had wheels on, but it had a UNI seat, vector bars (integral stem) and the green reflective cables.
i had a fox 4styler frame and fork, but my dad threw it away, sometime early 90's.
out of the 2 i wish i had the fox more.
-
out of the 2 i wish i had the fox more
Why??? ???
-
thats the rarer of the 2.
i mean i'd like them both!!! but i know a gen one is still obtainable. the 4stylers are all gone now. my frame cracked, and i re welded it at school. i imagine they all broke.
the gen one haro was a real beauty though. i bought it off a "rich kid" in about 1988, for FIFTY QUID. it looked like he had been bought the most expensive bike the shop had in 1983, rode it for a year, got flat tyres, then left it in his garage.
it had white aero zytecs
the clarkes cables / covers
vector bars/stem combo
uni seat
dia compe brakes
sugino 3 pc alloy cranks
and was absolutely mint. the last bike i rode before getting a motorbike in 1989 was this haro. i used to ride with a bunch a skateboarders on a crappy quarterpipe. no one else was into bmx by that point.
-
I know that there aren't many Fox Factor's around, but to rather have one than a Gen1? No way :D
By the way, what difference was there between a 4styler and an F1?
-
same bike
the later model had funky decals saying fox 4styler!
i rode my gen1 for ages. the fox was better to ride. but i had stopped riding it due to frame crackage :D
i will buy a 4styler as soon as i see one for sale. dont bother trying to outbid me as my budget is large for one of them!!!!
-

...no need to worry on that score ;D ;D I should imagine you'll only need a budget of about £3.50 to beat me, if I was to bid ;D ;D
-
lol...
:)
-
it was one of the only decent uk made freestyle frames.
they rock
-
And now the end is near
And so I face the final curtain
My friend, I 'll say it clear,
I 'll state my case of which I 'm certain.
I've lived a life thats full,
I travelled each and every highway,
And more, much more than this,
I did it My Way.
Regrets, I 've had a few,
But then again too few to mention
I did what I had to do
And saw it through without exception
I planned each charted course
each careful step along the byway
And more, much more than this,
I did it My Way.
Yes there were times, I'm sure you knew
When I bit off more than I could chew
But through it all when there was doubt
I ate it up and spit it out
I faced it all and I stood tall
And did it My Way.
I 've loved,
I 've laughed and cried,
I 've had my fill, my share of losing
and now as tears subside
I find it all so amusing
to think I did all that
and may I say not in a shy way
Oh no, oh no not me
I did it My Way
For what is a man, what has he got?
If not himself, then he has naught.
To say the things he truly feels;
And not the words of one who kneels.
The record shows
I took the blows -
And did it my way!
My funeral song by the way and sid vicious not old franky ;D
-
Nana - that was beautiful. :'(
-
Thanks stodgy i was acctually singing while typing ;D
You can borrow it for your passing if ye like matey but may you have a long innings like me ??? so the witch doctor says anyways ;D
-

Eh??? It's like a messed about with TRM with shite forks???
I like em, but it certainly ain't one of the best....best has to be the Rickman no question - and I'm a Curtis lover!
-
Even thought the Rickman and Badlander were made by the same people, the badlander feels a LOT more solid?
But the rickman is well cool.
-
forgot the badlander - sorry Orb :-[
-
Curtis ( more of a race bike with bits glued to it but rad non the less)
P L Craig Campbell?
-
Luvin the Sid Vish there Nana you were pitch purrfect fella. Shame Sid had to hook up with that scabby bag head and lose the plot He used to be like a God when we was at skool. R.I.P.
-
ONE OF the best!!!
the fox was what the TRM should have been.
shite forks? they were landing gear copies made from 531.
was the CC prolite UK made?
the rickys are good too. what made the fox so ridable and good for freestyle was the super low top tube!

I just think thats where the idea for the name came from.
-
what were there 4 of on a 4styler (except people who bought them) ?
-
I don't know....I guess it was coz it bore a slight resemblence to the quad?
That nos one was the only one I've ever seen...
-
a shop near where my dad's business was in cannock - called "All Moto" used to stock the whole MT Racing Fox range.
i think my dad knew the guy who run it, hence why my bro had this superfox:
and i got the 4styler

I've regretted selling heaps of stuff but four items in particular I really regret selling. Those items are:
My Revcore Pro frame & forks and bars.
My Auburn CR20RX frame & forks and bars and padset.
My Hutch Aerospeed cranks.
My Redline 401's.
I was a fool to have sold those four items and I think I will regret it for the rest of my life.
:'(
