Title: DP parts
Post by: fischflo on October 20, 2005, 10:27 PM
well, i got a freestyler frame.... THX to Greame, who helped me out with getting it straightened out (seat post tube replaced), swell

but what about the rest:
what parts belong on a dp freebird?  i know of dp forks, but are there any other components that a full-blooded birdy should have?

Thats a lovley firebird freestyler i havent seen one of those from the eighties mind you they were all over our estate back then, probably cause the local cycle shop stocked them, are these worth a lot now ?
Title: Re: DP parts
Post by: fischflo on October 31, 2005, 08:23 PM
well, the two I found were affordable - the one on the pix came for around 50 - but its post was split, the chrome a bit dull. I think I remember having seen one or the other birdy on this or the old forum, so I guess you'll find them. But the bars are like Gold Dust.

Why do some DP's have a dp cut out of the brace around the seat tube, are they a different model ???
Title: Re: DP parts

Moose answer this man then ;)
Title: Re: DP parts
Post by: Moose on November 01, 2005, 06:14 PM
The DP 'cut-out' was introduced in '85 (I think) along with the coaster bracket on the seatstay. DP frames prior to this did not have the cut-out.
