Hi I wanted peoples opions on Renthal Alloy/Aluminium Bars I am not to familiar with these are they any good or will normal Pro Size Bars in Chrome be a better option. I am thinking of using them on my 1983 Chrome SE Hauler.

i think , rudewheels has a nos set of pro size bars for sale well they did anyway ,i got some off then over a year ago .. great bars ;)
-
they were pretty popular BITD, but I have yet to see a pair for sale :(
-
did i not send you a set of them fusion bars oli ?.
-
Nice bars but a very shallow rake and even if you get a set that's seen better days they are untreated so just get the wet and dry (and autosol) out and get polishing. Can't go wrong with them.
-
Alloy bars are cráp, i can just about deal with an alloy frame but you only need to snap one set of bars to know how scary they are.
i chucked a pair of renthals down the tip when i moved in 02, they were attached to a rusty Silverstreak f&f another one to regret.

I'm with the AcidMan on this one, had Renthals BITD and had them snap in two on me as I carved into the steepest part of Rom's snakerun....
Suffice it to say, it was not pretty :o
If it's for a regular ride then I would get a set of modern light bars, way stronger and just as light I reckon ;)

im with you on renthals...but mx bike still use renthals....mmmmm

Yeah, they're called Renthal FatBars, I had 'em on my previous bike. They are 1" at the clamp and they taper down to 7/8" at the grips, they are known to be damn strong but the FMXers use them coz there's more room for candybars and saran wraps etc. Most racers use the standard bar with crossbar (known as twinwalls I believe) which are cheaper... :)

Can't comment on Renthal bars as only recently got a set but the only seat post that never bent on me BITD was a Renthal (oh and an SST but won't mention that one) many a cromo post bent inbetween times (OK it didn't snap like alloy would I agree) but just remember they are race bars and most race stuff that is put to jumping or skate park use bends or breaks sooner or later.

I PUT A SET ON MY MOMGOOSE CALAFORNIAN BITD, FOLLOWING THE TREND OF THE MONGOOSE TEAM, CAN'T REALLY REMEBER MUCH ABOUT THEM NOW, I SAY IF YOU LIKE EM, GO WITH THEM,

Hi all
I must say, I thought the seat posts the best, and used bars on mx bikes.
I contacted Renthal a while back asking if they had any old stock that could be purchased in bulk, and got this email - :'(
I am afraid we do not have any seat posts available. We actually had a major fire in 2001 and our factory was completely ruined. Any products would have been lost at this stage.
With regard to handlebars perhaps try our 797-01 bar. This has been designed for XR50s but it was derived from a BMX bar.
Kind regards,
Rees

Use the chrome one. Fits better with the bike! Not alu as the PK!
