Right I have a set of MX1000's that were pink but have now been stripped back to plain alloy. I want to paing them black but not sure of the best way to go about it.
I had looked at having them anodised black but that's not possible with brakes and levers because of the metal rivets having to stay in place.
I'm thinking that some humbrol enamel may be the way to go. Has anyone got any experience of this?

Si ... don't use enamel paint as it chips far too easily. Halford's car paint is probably the best you can get in a rattle can :daumenhoch:

i would get them done in 2 pac,i painted a pair of dx,s and they have lasted really well, but make sure an etch primer is used first :daumenhoch:

The problem I'm going to have is that I need to paint round the rivets on the levers and the quick release mechanism. The other problem is I can't spray them because of the same reason so perhaps I'll spray some paint into the lid and use a model brush to apply it.

I was wondering about the best stuff to do this. I Have got to remove the flaky chrome first though. Powder coat would be nice bit probably too thick. I will try 2 pac I think if I can find somewhere who will put it on for me, unless I can get a small quantity from a supplier.

do they not sell masking tape in your town then.....
do not even think about a brush finish...they will look shocking....mask up, and use a rattle can.
