The great Mr. Taff, yes.
£730 for a pile of old sh1t. Not bad eh?

I would have loved that, but over £700.... :crazy2:

How long would it take to eat £730 worth of cheese..?
-
cheese would last longer
-
i'd feel better for eating 730 quids worth of cheese
-
As you normally say mate........you see £90 worth of yellow tuffs and £640 worth of skip fodder ;)
-
horses for courses.
i'm sure it's a real nice bike, and was voted the most "iconic" bmx of the 80's.
but don't listen to me mate. i think i rode bmx too long in that decade.
-
Probably a minty bike but that price is ridiculous :idiot2: especially when you see diesels redline for £425 BIN not selling  £730 :idiot2: money to burn me thinks? :D
-
not bad at £730 - that's a pound for every stone it weighs! :idiot2:
-
I think its utter madness, you could have a real BMX for that money >:D
-
spooky, I was on the train this morning wondering how many of those were sold and how many sets of yellow tuffs must exist somewhere.
Mad price though.... :idiot2:
-
wat the hell is ganin on man !!!!
A diven nar me its raj man!! am gana gan and stand at the top o wor stairs.
-
Blimey, big money.
But how often do you find a near-NOS complete Burner?
When folk are paying £150+ just for grips, I think it's a bargain for a piece of history and an absolute icon.
-
if i just bubble wraped mine bitd :'(
-
holy sh!t :D :D :-\ :-\
-
Just shows whats going on in this hobby , prices are reflecting the rarity of these bikes
still a bit to go , but some thing are surely peaking like mx1000s and dc levers LOL
I think we will see parts rising a bit more to catch up with some of the really desirable parts then stable for a few years then it should start to slide down, but this will depend on the ammount of new blood coming into the scene i guess
I wonder sometimes how high it will go
will we see DX for 250
will we see tuffs hit the 300 mark
and will changas go past 1500
it is sure possible

it's panic buying, when will we all learn that there's always another one, nothing is that rare!

For me it a condition thing now. That bike is in amazing original condition and that is very rare. Yes they will be other mk1s but will they be in as good original condition. :) ;)
-
omg, i meen i like my burner's but i would never pay £730 for one!
-
that's crazy money for sure :crazy2: ....so how much did a new tuff burner originally cost bitd? :-\
-
cheap for an icon methinks! :10_2_12: :LolLolLolLol:
I doubt there are many MK1 Tuff Burners in the country that are in the box still. So I'd imagine it is very rare. Would have loved it to have gone for more than a Ripper! PMSL
As I've said many times before, IMO these are the next fashionable bike and are gonna push the Raleigh Chopper off of its pedestal.
-
I know this may be a bit controversial, and don't get me wrong I do like some burners (ie the pro's and Aero Pro's) but I look at what is happening as being similar to the Chopper scene a couple of years ago. You couldn't touch those things without dumping huge amounts of money down, now I'm not so sure the popularity has lasted.
My guess is there'll be far more os bmx's including burners ridden around the festivals and bug jams etc this year than choppers!!
-
that's because choppers ride like shit!
-
that's because choppers ride like shit!
They ride better with Tuffs! :10_2_12: ;D
-
that's because choppers ride like shit!
And Burners don't? :LolLolLolLol: At least you could wheelie a Chopper :LolLolLolLol:
Frosty you are right about the Chopper scene, my mate that owns the machine shop built a couple a few years ago, paying ludicrous amounts of money for stuff like the seats, gear levers and so on. He sold them about a year ago and lost a heap of money and has now been selling his parts stash on eGay and is practically giving it away as no-one seems to want them ::). It's all fashion, it comes and goes and comes back again like a virtuous circle :daumenhoch:.
-
choppers were trendy in the early to mid nineties. just as a "retro" thing.
the bmx thing is much deeper. i don't think old school bmx's will ever really be fashionable
and when the burner bubble bursts, the old school bmx scene will still continue on
-
that's crazy money for sure :crazy2: ....so how much did a new tuff burner originally cost bitd? :-\
when they were new, i think they cost either £139 or £159
-
Bombers are better than all that shite for wheelies
-
This wheelies really well, Going cheap on the bay too, The seller has told me that the first £700 can have it (apparently it will come in a brown paper bag-discretion assured ;) )

I think this will explain Julian paying that price. I have to say if I had to have that to complete my collection I'd have paid that too.
Here you go. I love that cruiser.

Im doing something wrong you Burner boys have way too much miney for your own good
-
it wouldn't be so bad if they were any good.there were only two that were any good and they were tange made frames, forks, bars etc. nuts ;)
