Title: Some kids told me my seat is too high, are they right?
Post by: Steve_W on April 14, 2007, 09:25 AM
I'm nearly 6'2" and 15 1/2 stone, riding a Standard STA 500.  Yesterday at Tipton, some decent riders took pity on my wobbling antics and gave me some advice, they said grandad, lower your seat and lose the pegs, so I have now lowered it to leave about 2" of seat pin showing.  So now if I sit down when riding I look like a right Deacon, and my knees and chin become close mates!  Any opinions?  I ride mainly small ramps (no vert) and flatland. (and to be fair I don't nip to the shops on it, so it's not really like I need to sit down!)

Cheers!

Get one of those hope quick release seat clamps so you can adjust it for what you are doing at the time, that's what I'm gonna do on my cruiser soon.

Slam it down, even for racing....

I have 2" showing and about 3" in the frame. When I cut my Thompson Elite in half the missus said can you get £35 back for the bit your not going to use., ::)

This is how I have mine.

Raaah!  Seems I'm not the only one gettin' a hard time out in them tough parks!  Yeah, suppose I'm an 80's kid...anyone know a tune by Nightmares on wax called 70's 80's (Up Bringing Mix), it's quality...represents where I'm from...a bit of a Deacon, and yeah I remember all the Helen Keller jokes as well!

So, I'm riding Epic in the morning, nuff opportunity for the nippers to take the rise, so I'll see what they say!

Great reading, cheers all!
