Used to get it bitd T-cut but don't want a coarse polish, more for the wax for protection, any suggestions?
-
To polish a chrome frame I'd use Autosol. It has corrosion protection in it and will make a chrome frame Bling! For paint or powder I use normal car polish/wax.
-
I would not recomend autosol as it is an abrasive, and although your frame will look good too much polishing and you will go through the chrome. try using a good quality car polish such as Mer or Autoglym.
-
Mer and Autoglm are abrasive too?!! :-\
-
Just the thread I was looking for.
So Autosol, Mer and Autoglym are all abrasive. Any ideas if these will cause too much scouring of the chrome or if there are other non-abrasive poiishes about that will help buff up and protect chrome, please?
Cheers

autoglym super resin polish will sort it , its not that abrasive at all would take longer than our years left to polish through chrome with that

Peek or wonder chrome
both non abrasive and both great for chrome , wonder chrome even has a sealer with it that seals in the shine , apparently

I can help you here mate as I ran my own car detailing business for a few years.
There's no problem using an abrasive polish or a chrome cleaner to bring back the shine but it will give you very little protection. Some abrasive polishes also have fillers in them that mask the fine scrathes hence giving you a better looking finish that it really is. Invest in some decent Carnauba Wax paste which you can use for protecting chrome as well as paintwork. A decent one for the money which will be perfect for you bike is a wax called S100 which they sell in Harley dealers. You can get the car version of this too which is called P21S but it's a little more expensive. You can also get some Poorboys Nattys or Chemical Guys XXX for around a tenner as well which would ideal for what you want.
Some of my Swissol waxes cost me hundreds but I think these would be a bit of an overkill - LOL! Still, I was cheaper than Paul Dalton's £5K car wash.
Hope that helps mate.
Daz.
