Hello! could someone on here help me with my Sugino CT 3 piece crank i have just fitted. The problem is, i have got the crank on my frame and it looks fine and turns fine, but there is slight movement from side to side which is really annoying me as whatever i try to do i can't resolve the problem. If i tighten up the nuts on the one side then it pulls the chainwheel in closer up tight to the frame and then the crank then makes a noise while turning as the chainwheel rubs against the frame. If i loosen the nuts then the crank will move even more from side to side which i don't want. I have got the crank in the perfect position but it moves if you push or pull it. Is this normal and will it be ok once the chain is in place to stop it moving. Even better still if there is someone in Birmingham who could come and have a look at then that would be great. Cheers !

fit some spacer washers .

It sounds as though the axle is offset too much, in the wrong way round or its too narrow. Washers might not help Dan as the crank won't bite on the axle so it will stay loose. How does the other side look, is there a lot of clearance between the non drive crank and the chain stay?

sorry if this is a dumb question, but have you got the lock nut on the left(non drive side?)
