You wont need telling about this one, but I'm going to anyway. Round two of Hersdens summer series is this Sunday, and as everyone knows, all your favourite radders will be in action in the third round of the Old Skool Summer Series for the South Region.
At the time of writing we have 21 riders pre regged for the o/s class, if all turn up it will be a track record for numbers in one group.
Also on offer after a few enquiries from one or two riders at MK yesterday, we hope to put on some Cruiser racing, we only need 4 to make it worthwhile, but any more than that would be great.
A huge thank you to all rad members who put their hard earnt towards the trophies for this event, we are sure the kids will be very greatful, and ever huge thanks to Tibbs Cycles in Canterbury for their series sponsorship :daumenhoch: :daumenhoch:.
Not to be overshadowed by the older riders, there's plenty of points up for grabs for the youngsters, with age groups starting at 7years and under.
Here is how the meeting shapes up
1. Seven years and under
2. Eight and Nine years
3. Ten and eleven years
4. CRUISERS
5. Twelve and thirteen years
6 Fourteen to sixteen years
7 Seventeen years plus
8 Girls 13 years and under
9 Old Skool
Registration starts at 10 and will close at 12.30. Registration fee is £2.50

I'm moist with anticipation.

This meet will be one of the highlights of the Summer, a true old school track with some great racers in attendance! I just cant wait to get on that gate. There wont be any dvd salesman on this track Jim and Lee >:D
-
looking forward to this one :daumenhoch:
-
I/m becoming more moist as the week goes on.
I think that's the fever I'm coming down with. I'm going to be taking it very easy over the next week in order to shift it in time for Sunday. :(
-
Seems like Zippy's getting ready for a pathetic "couldn't make it because I had a man-cold" excuse!! He wouldn't dare!! Would he?? Bring it on guys I'm in training having lost a few pounds last week and FINALLY managed a two-pedal start on my Stumpy Gate, so I'm ready to SNAP!! Humps ;)
-
Ready to snap what Humps? >:D
I'm well looking forward to Hersden. See you all there.
-
FINALLY managed a two-pedal start on my Stumpy Gate, so I'm ready to SNAP!! Humps ;)
OH NO - just me then with the Proper OS one footed "oh shoot can't balance for more than 2 secs "
type starts, which i do feel should be compulsory, as they are more in keeping with the OS spirit of the events . . . . . ::) :coolsmiley:
-
Kev, you really should join the old school series, we are nearly all on 2 pedal starts now :daumenhoch:
-
was hoping to get some of the rounds TBH but not managed it yet
guess the bottom line is i'll just have get off me arse & practice more :)
-
FINALLY managed a two-pedal start on my Stumpy Gate, so I'm ready to SNAP!! Humps ;)
Nice one AL.
Hay Kev just do what i do, what i found makes the two pedal start easier is if you have the back wheel slightly off cock to the front wheel its easier to keep your balance then.

I was so up for hersden, unf work called me for a meeting with our chinese buddies sunday and client pitch 9am monday in mcr. Well pissed off!! I
-
As a side not if all of those attending can bring their kids along with them as well then they can 'race' too. I say race but a lot of the time it means you have to run round behind them incase they fall over. Even if they're on stabalisers it doesn't matter.
-
I have been in contact with TK and my 2 will be there :2funny:
And there is NO way i am running round after them... I couldnt keep up. :tickedoff: :tickedoff:
Matt
-
What do you mean couldn't keep up, the first straight is only about 4 of your strides :LolLolLolLol:
-
I know mate but my two are off like whippets on that track... >:D
Unlike when i took em to daggers and they they both wanted to start halfway down the start hill. :LolLolLolLol:

Some serious training going on in preparation for Sunday's Hersden event. Found SE Mark and Shane 82 over the Heath tonight - they'd been there since 4:30 apparantly - getting some jumping in. QuadPaul put in an appearance too having travelled from Canvey to get back into the groove. And that makes twice I've been there this week - beats 20 mins on the exercise bike I can tell you. Anyone else been putting in some extra effort this week?? Humps
-
Just got over the MASSIVE Airbus mozzy bites from my first visit to the Heath four weeks ago. Will be back there just as soon as I can. I'll be easy to spot, I'll be the guy riding around in a spacesuit stinking of mozzy repellent.
-
ME AND SE MARK SHOULD BE AT THE HEATH FRIDAY TOO IF ANY ONE WANTS TO COME ALONG FOR SOME PRACTICE!!!
