pure alcohol (spray if you can get it ) if not surgical spirit you can buy in the chemist about 50p for loads , it evaporates completely so no residue at :4_17_5: amazing

I usually stick the kettle on, leave it to boil, place grip and bar ends over steam for a few seconds (but careful of those hands) and then slide the grips on....but you gotta be quick. Then make yourself a cuppa tea :)

Multi-tasking, love it! :daumenhoch:

wd40 or hairspray !!
so, what about getting em off then ??? always a pain in my experience,
-
WD40 kinda melts the rubber on the inside of the grip a tiny bit so it sticks to the bars (after helping to slide it on). Usually, just poking something in the end of the grip (small screwdriver) and spraying in more WD40 will pop them off again.
Its better to use something to lube them on or you will stretch the grip so it will never stick good.

Lots of tugging and yanking :LolLolLolLol:
I take the bars off the bike, sit down, stick my size 11 between the bars, get someone to hold the other end (of the bars!), stick some Heavy Metal on and then pull like mad!!! :crazy2:

Take the bars off, fill a sink with hot water and stick the grip in. After a few seconds, peel back the flange of the grip to let some hot water in. Keep doing this until you can twist at least half the grip and then keep twisting until it slips off.
Cleans your grips at the same time :daumenhoch:

i usually try the hot water thing, but the missues got stressed out last time i did that, maybe I should take the washing up out of the bowl first !! :LolLolLolLol:

Halfords brake cleaner to fit. Works a treat.
To remove take bike to petrol station.
Jam the compressed air gun for inflating car tyres in the end of the grip (will make a hole so not good on expensive grips) and then full throttle on the air gun.
The grip on the other end normally flies off like a bullet!!
Quite entertaining!

spit :daumenhoch: works every time ,and drys quick ;)

Done this a couple of these in the past few days. Dunk em in the washing up bowl before you wash up. They slide on nice and easy. when they dry (an hour or so) the washing up liquid residue makes em stick so that they dont move. To get em off just squirt a bit of water down them using a screwdriver to lift the end of the grip. :daumenhoch:

Hi all
A little smear of Washing up Liquid on the bars works well for me, nice and easy, clean, no movement and no damage.
