INFO NEEDED - SKYWAY TUFF II's WITH MONGOOSE LOGO!
A friend has found an old Mongoose with various nice old parts.
He described the wheels as Skyway Tuff II's with a Mongoose logo on them?!?
Can anyone shed any light on the possibility of this and also date them.
Cheers JJ

I'd love a pair of them, you never see them for sale.there was a scan of a mongoose brochure on here somewhere which would have given you an idea with the date.Is the date not on the wheel itself? mightbe 84 onwards? :-\

Sorry it was 83

yup! You have the "Mongoose Approved" Tuff 2's there. Mongoose used Tuffs on some of their early 80's bikes, and they stamped the Tuffs with maurice the mongoose for a year or so.....
Nice wheels!

I used to work in Plastic Injection Moulding. Once I was talking to a guy who worked for a company in High Wycombe. He told me that they used to make the plastic BMX wheels. I said that the best ones were skyway and he said "thats them! I asked him if he was sure, cos there were other types that looked almost the same, but he was sure it was skyways he used to make. I wasnt so sure, and thought he must have made a mistake. Ive not thought about that till just now. I guess he was right.

That has to be 81 or 82 then
like in the brochure scan
These are alloy flanged tuffs aswell
What year di they stop alloy flanges
I could've swore , I bought some Tuffs II's in late 83 and the front wheel wasn't alloy flanged ???
