Can any of you old school masters identify this rescued diamondback?
I've been searching the net trying to find out, the pacer and the harry leary torbo look close but not sure.

How the heck do you put pictures on >:(
-
you need to sign up for photobucket (a photo hosting site ) then upload your photos to it then copy and paste the links into your pm on here
-
come on do it I want to see what you have it had better be good. :)
-
Will do it later, at work just now :(
Probably turn out to be nothing, who knows.

Hi
Is the seat post at an angle or staight? If it is straight (ish) could be a Senior Pro.
Both Turbo and SP have nearly equal sized front and rear triangles - looking side on the area the wheel goes in is about the same size as from the seat post to headset and then down to bottom bracket.
Hope that makes sense.
Looking forward to pictures.
J.

no worries matey sorry i dont know what it is though
-
prob a pacer or a super viper lol
is there any thing on the rear dropout
-
No nothing on the rear dropout, I've seen a pacer 500 with etching on the dropout but this has nothing.
Just to give you a bit of background.
My mate knows this guy who goes round collecting bikes for charity organisations. My mate told him to phone if he came across any old school bmx's. I told him I was in the market for one and he came up with this, for a £10 donation of course ;)
-
damn good find for £10 matey i thought all diamond backs had the serial on the inside left hand drop out?.
wait for scary leary to see this he helped me recentley
-
Thanks,
The serial number is on the underside of the btm bracket. I'll try and post a pic tomorrow.
-
I would say that is more than likely a Pacer 500 F&F and suspect the serial number will be under the bottom bracket starting with an F, though a couple of the items are as per the marketing brochure. :daumenhoch:
Look on the inside of the rear drop-outs, it may say Cr-Mo. Though I have seen original Pacers stamped as 500 or Cr-Mo.
My understanding is that the Super Vipers were manufactured for the US market, had chainguard tabs on the bottom bracket and above the chainstay due to regulation. You'll also see these on US model standard Vipers.
Both the Pacer and Super Viper look to be the same frame, with the Super Viper probably being rebadged just to get rid of the looptail remnents.
I'm sure there's enough people on here that can chip in with information to provide a near accurate outcome. :)

Thanks guys, gettin more excited by the minute ;D
Just charging the camera at the moment, the serial number does start with a F and it does have CRMO stamped inside the rear dropouts :daumenhoch:
-
As I still don't know how to paste the pics, here's the links.

If this turns out to be a pacer 500 does anyone have, or know where to get a photo of an original?
Cheers all :daumenhoch:
