Title: GT Performer & Muddy Fox Freestyle Pro - 1st Couple of Builds
Post by: Paulo on May 01, 2007, 07:30 PM

So after 25 years I had an urge to get into BMX again, so I built the custom spec'd bikes below.

Both have circa 1999 frames I think. Any comments welcome, or tips on how to date the frames properly or perhaps information on them, especially the Muddy Fox.

So now I'm well into BMX and building a couple of old schools. It's good to be back.

Thanks all  ;D  ;D

Anyone got any information about the Fox.  I've found diddly squat about it on the net.

The Performer has got an unusual paint job. Anyone seen anything like it?  Do you think it's a factory paint job?

Thanks again

Liking both those mate  :daumenhoch:  but you forgot to add the pictures afterwards when the bike slips and the brake lever scrapes all the paint off the wing of your car  ;)

As already confirmed by Pickle that GT is a factory colour. I saw about half a dozen of them being knocked out by Billys in around '98 (I think it was Billys and I think it was '98)  :LolLolLolLol:

That Muddy Fox is the Bollox :4_17_5:

I'm probably way off mark, but I think they were sold as relitively low-end bikes. If what I think is true, you've managed the impossible and actually 'polished a turd' - I didn't think it was possible (please note, this is in no way a derogatory comment, it's a compliment). Whatever - it looks sweet.

Thanks everybody. Really appreciate the comments and the information.

I bought the GT F&F off ebay toward the beginning of last year only cause I liked the paint job so HD it probably was mine and the Fox...well it looked really clean when I bought the frame and I know white mags would go. It just had to be done. I didn't know retro Landing Gears till I found a set on the bay so that finished off the build really well. It hasn't been ridden so it'll probably fall apart as soon as it's sat on. I'll think I just look at it for now.

 :)
