Getting on with preping my robinson frame for powder coating and think im nearly there but have a few questions before sending it off.
1.on parts of the frame the chrome has come away will this show up when powder coated
2.How far do u go with the sanding b4 its ready to paint

To get a really good finish you might want to take it along to chrome platers and have them remove the chrome for you. I don't think it would be that expensive and would certainly give you an excellent base for a powder coat over the top. If not, you will need to rub down the flakey bits and get a very smooth transition from bare metal to chrome otherwise you will see it under the powder coat.

when you say come away, can you peel it of, if so it's no good :(
powder over chrome is fine as long as its surface rust and no peeling
the only way to get the job right is heavy sandblast or having the chrome reversed ;)

mine cost £15 to have chrome removed but took 4 weeks

Just get the powdercoaters to sandblast it before. I have had 2 chrome frames painted this way with no problems at all :daumenhoch:
