I have many riders who I hold in very high regard from the 80's, Craig C, Carlo, Neil Ruffell to name just a few but who were your top 5 US riders?
Here's mine.....
1 Mike Dominguez - he was awesome for his time, pushed the boundaries in many ways. Watching him at Pipeline was a site to behold, that place was scary!
2 Brian Blyther - So high and so smooth for his time, I loved his style, made it look so easy.
3 Ron Wilkerson - again he was rad, top fella too.
4 Todd Anderson - I loved his Stupple switch foot style lookbacks, clicked!
5 Bob Haro - don't really need to put anything here, it was because of him and Dave Slade in the UK I got into all this.
A few outsiders.....Fiola, Dizz Hicks, Hugo Gonzales, Andy Shohara (Hawian I know but rode in the US) Some of you may wonder why Fiola's not in there but it's so hard to choose them.

It's no contest for me, Bob Haro. He was the man that got me into the whole thing. Watching him was amazing.
Shout out to Eddie Fiola and Dave Vanderspek though. That 'Van Der Roll' into a bowl I saw in BMX Action Bike was crazy. Mike Dominguez and Neil Ruffel complete the set I think.

I've never seen anyone do one in real life. Hell, I can hardly pull an endo at the moment :LolLolLolLol:
I'll hold you to that. I'd like to see it.
Thanks

1. Mike Dominguez - Truly awesome and way ahead of his time.
2. Ron Wilkerson - Won the Keloggs in 85, the BMX comp that got me into riding. Awesome on flat and ramps. Nice guy too very down to earth.
3. Dennis McCoy - Awesome rider to watch. Revolutionised flatland riding in this country with fast spinning trick. Great ramp rider too. Still ripping at 40+.
4. Mat Hoffman - BITD him and Carlo were probably the two best ramp riders in the world and neither were Pro yet.
5. Scott Freeman - Great flatland rider. Had a great aura about him. Looked a surfer type dude with bright blonde hair, riding and living in California, riding for Skyway. How cool is that!

Ron Wilkerson (good all rounder)
Brian Blyther (Goin' BIG !)
DMC ( still around - Awesome ! )

did someone metion Hugo Gonzales??? .... where's those blasted photos when i need them
for me its DMC- no question, still going strong. unbelieveable. he's done it all, riding with Bob haro, through the dead years and he's still competing now with bestwick and Kagy. Outlasted them all. :4_17_5: :4_17_5: :4_17_5:

I spent yesterday thinking about this and found it difficult to only choose a top 5, but here it goes. No particular order
Bob Haro
Mike Dominguez
Eddie Fiola
Brian Blyther
Dmcjoejohnsonchrispottsmatthoffmanmarcmcglynnmartinaparijojoshwhitedavevoelkerdonovanritterdavevanderspeckgonzo ;)
and many more

it's true, there are so many great riders from the US, that it's hard to pick out just five...
For overall riding it's got to be Dennis McCoy and Ron Wilkerson.... They both ripped at both disciplines and they weren't too many riders who were top at both flatland and ramps.
-
for me it's got to be Bob Haro No:1[we would'nt know what freestyle is without his input]
Mike Dominguez No:2 Unreal how high that kid used to go back then.
Eddie Fiola No:3 Coz he made yellow look cool!

I liked Brian Blyther and Mike Dominguez. And of course Mat Hoffman.
