cant belive some people. ::) ::)
there is a looptail ripper on the bay at the moment
that keeps increasing in price without anyone bidding
on it :idiot2: :idiot2: :idiot2:
it started at £400-£500-£800 its now at
£850 with no bids
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ih=002&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT&viewitem=&item=120119125685&rd=1&rd=1
i emailed them to find out what was going on ???
and this is the reply :2funny: :2funny: :2funny: :2funny:
"because you can revise your item. i am selling this bike for my
partner who has been told it is worth £2000. absolutely
ridiculous i know!! but it is a 1981 bike - all original parts."
-
I wouldn't pay 2000 for it.
What is it worth?
-
trouble is high starting bids put off loads of people
a reserve is better but costs more ::)
£2k ? seems on the high side
but it only needs two bidders to go head to head over it
-
400 tops rearly tops
-
As Dan said £400, rest is scrap other than brakes....that other one was on £1200 earlier, just about worth £1200 but compare what you get for your money with that one....
-
all original parts? from 81?
that stem?
those wheels?
-
this is what i sent him back
"im afraid you may have been mislead with the value of it.
true early looptail rippers are highly desirable but the estimation of £2000 is way off the mark im afraid.
i have a restored looptail rippers that has lots of top end components fitted and i estimate its value to be about £1000 .your bike as nice as it is does have a few inferior parts fitted like the raleigh burner wheels. i would say the value of it would be around the £500 mark on a very good day.
i do apologise if i sound negative i really don't mean to but it would be a shame to waist your listing and us all not get a chance to bid on it at a reasonable price.
thanks john"
see if they lower the starting price :daumenhoch:

£350 tops
-
the nice NOS one only made £1370 and with beartraps and hutch stem also,
£350 does seem about right,
they'll prob start another auction at £100 next week if they;re serious about selling it. ;)
