PLEASE READ THE TEXT BEFORE LOOKING AT THE PICTURES
I have just finished building my SE Racing Retro Quadangle.
Now everybody knows that all the retro looptail Quads are powder blue in colour....... NOT THIS ONE!!
As soon as this bike was released I knew what I was going to do with it and it has turned out to be stunning.
I hope to think that I always bring something new to the table with each of my builds - remember my yellow retro GT? my orange/white Superstar Parkinson, even my latest 99% NOS Roger DeCoster, I try to do different things with every build.
Well this time I have created, what I think is the ultimate retro BMX, on each of my previous retro builds I have always used some Old School parts to create the look. Not this time, I wanted to make an old school looking bike, but with completely new and up to date parts.
So here she is, my retro looptail Quadangle....................

That's a peach....It pays to think outside the box. :4_17_5:
-
Thanks for the kind words guys, I really love this bike and it has turned out better than I hoped.
Stodgy, I rarely ever comment on other peoples builds, but I do see your point. I have cringed at some of the loopy quads appearing on t'other site. The superb Doug Taylor's near to Bristol did the chroming and what an amazing job they have done. Look at any of Nicks (Gashead) recent chrome builds and you can see the quality in their work. Good pricing and quick turn around too (well quick for some chromers).
Flaz, thanks for the big up dude and as for the Arsenal comment, after this past season I think I may start agreeing with you :LolLolLolLol:
-
beautiful!, just beautiful!!

sean top build as usaul mate
cant wait to see it at mk 07 mate :daumenhoch:

Speaking of VBMX, I must have upset a couple of people over there, I had 1 person saying that the bike is bland and aesthtically unpleasing and another person said simply 'YUK'. Well there is no pleasing some people is there? :LolLolLolLol:
-
that's one stunning build, like it a lot.perhaps we could have a retro new school class at MK,I'll bring me Kappa.Where did the stem originate from?
Dave.

some f-ugly builds on there,
the one with the blue tuffs is just vile! every shade of blue but the right one and gold!! .......gold!

Jai
I will be using it as a racer (as much as work allows), I will try to get along to Patchway on Wednesday, but I will have to see what my shifts are this week as I may have to work late Wednesday which would mean I cannot ride too hard.
-

:LolLolLolLol: :LolLolLolLol:

I know what you mean about different shades of blue, all the blue is the same shade on mine... except for the seat and the grips and they are both bugging the hell out of me because of that, and they are only a little bit out. The seat I can probably dye but may have to put up with the grips, although I know they will continue to p*ss me off. Other people it seems, just throw any shade of similar colour on a bike and are happy.
-
That's the bollox Sean :daumenhoch:

looks absolutley mint mate :4_17_5: ....... where did the 30 years of radness decal come from :-\
Deano :daumenhoch:
Deano
The 30 years of radness decal is standard issue on all retro quads, I just removed it by heating it up with the missus hairdryer and storing it on a mirror until I re-used it.
-
nice one stidds that does look proper awesome mate....... :4_17_5: my f+f arrived last week no.136 in the baby blue colour just pondering over what to do with it build wise :-\
