Title: warped chain rings
Post by: priv on May 21, 2007, 01:33 AM
i've a slightly warped profile imperial ring,it's warped enough for the chain to be slack then tight as it spins,,any ideas as to how i can straighten it before the rubber mallet comes out????

cheers...priv

undo the bolt that screws into the crank arm and see if that cures it? Profiles sometimes have a mismatch on the two faces here (spindle hole and chinring bolt hole)
If it does then use really fine washer(s) to shim the gap between crank arm and chainring  :daumenhoch:

to check how warped it is lay it on a piece of glass, (table/window ect...) it will show if its warped or if the bolt is pulling it across  :daumenhoch:
