I'd been looking for one of these a fair while, and bought the frame and forks off Del a few months back (cheers matey).

Got this info from Dragonfly:
>> Hi Brian,
>>
>> we made, as far as i remember a total of 300 of those frames. we made
>> 200 in cp, and 50 in mat cp ( your finish) and 50 in black cp , with
>> clearcoat powder over, for protection ( nicle cp was prone
>> to"blinding" )
>>
>> i will try to find a picture of the stickers for you
>>
>> Matthias
>>
> >p.s. i think we just sold a handful to the UK.
>>
>> the frame is 100 % crmo, forged dropouts, and double butted/
>> heattreated downtube ( 11 years ago!!)
Been slowly picking away at it, building it up and we're nearly there. I know it's not all era correct, but I'm kitting it out from available parts, and I have more new school bits than mid school bits in my boxes of bits.
Only thing I don't like about it is the bars. They're virtually zero sweep and are gonna be killer on the wrists.
Any recommendations for alternatives? Would like to stay away from 2 piece bars tho.

thats looking nice mate, are the forks 1" or 1 1/8
-
cheers rob,
they're 1" forks. they take a regular headset but have got a clamp on bit above the threads which i've shimmed and fitted the 1 1/8" HB super stem to.
hadn't ever seen a set like this before, got some advice from Del.

you'll be doing pedal pickers in no time
bet that bike weighs a bit. i know when i built it up one time it was pretty heavy!
what about those rear dropouts though? awesome
-
Looking good Brian, there were decals on the bike when i got it, not sure if they were original or not but if they were they were cr@p! I think mine are a lot better!!! (but i would say that). Oh and I had hoffy love bars on when I built it.
Looking at that its making me want to build my Dragonfly MC, very similar to the DD but the top tubes are 1inch shorter and its in blingy chrome. :smitten:

Cheers Del!
Yeah I know what you mean about the original stickers... there's a (reasonably) recent ride mag in which George G-SpoRt French is writing about frame twist. He's using a dragonfly double dynamite in that article, and if those are the original decals, then yeah, they do look a bit cack...
And yeah, get that MC built up, that looks well nice even as a F&F!

been tinkering with some new stickers, but only had gold vinyl available.
saw the dragonfly logo in an old ride bmx mag. thought it'd look good as a frame sticker, so had a go at getting some cut.
i thought they looked okay? (although i'm thinking about getting them in black instead...)

must admit i keep lookin at these gyro cover things. i never saw those bitd i must have left the scene before it became popular, was this a regular occurence? where do you get hold of that kind of item?
-
i got that xposure gyro cover as a freebie. gt bikes had a video out in 1995 called "code 4130" or something like that, directed by eddie roman.
first copy i got had faulty sound, then was replaced by another which also had dodgy sound, so as a small compensation type gesture, the third copy i got enclosed that gyro cover. (but the vid was still faulty :()
khe also did a cover, along with a few others i'm sure, but in 1995/1996, i'm not sure how many people were doing lots of cherry pickers and would have the need for a gyro cover... ???
-
looks sweet!
nice build there bri,
i like :smitten:
-
cheers joe :daumenhoch:
it's a tad heavier than that sweet ti reaper of urs tho... ;)
