Title: pk ripper stickers - opinions wanted
Post by: theRuler on October 31, 2005, 10:55 AM
i got a black late model pk ripper (not so late its pig ugly though)

the stickers that come on it were horrendous yellow and silver things

anyhoo i bought a set a baby blue stickers, and i was thinking of stripping the frame an polishing it.

how do you think it would look if i just cleaned up the black (paint is still sound) and whacked the stickers on?

baby blue on black? i see a lot of black and gold, not black and light blue.

Looks pretty rad but like you say them stickers ain't right. Not seen the bike of my mates for a while. He's quite a bit younger than me and I didn't know him back in the day but he used to ride for one or the other of Torker or GT in freestyle. He's got loads of trophys n stuff someone might remember him he 's called Andy Shaw from Southport. Alan Woods knows him quite well I think. He had a bike shop in Formby and then in Southport called E11even cos it was one louder.

on the downtubes of my ripper where massive stickers saying "SE" in yellow and silver. i was virtually peeling them off before i left the shop.

orby those stickies look good too.
there is an abundance of pk rippe stickers available. i'll run the blueys until they are fubar then try a different colour!

I like the blue decals on black.
Incidentally...i dont know how you dont like the new ones(its all personal taste). But they are 7005 Ali NOT cro-mo..Its a superior ali to the original Rippers.

As for them being too long..its great,i'm 5,11 and i can actually ride the thing comfortably.Ive got an 83 Ripper as well and its lovely but its diddy.
They are real Rippers, they are good quality and i think they are a great new bike...at least they dont snap like the old ones in several different places.(no disrespect to the wonder that is old Rippers).

I dunno maybe you are vertically challenged and feel scared of riding a bike that doesnt remove your kneecapsĀ  on the handlebars ;D Ho ho

I think this is a great looking bike..if anything its probably too retro.

yeh they aint chromo, i misread the info on them.

i have never seen one up close, just in pictures.
i like the older rippers because they are short. mine is a kneecap cruncher!!

hopefully i will meet someone at a skatepark one day with a new ripper and i can have a go.
i'm not too tall though, and prefer a bike with a 36" wheelbase.

but i will give one a go, and will most likely form a different opinion!!!

i know what you mean about the retro look. mine (i believe) is a 21st century bike but looks like it's from the 80's
