Bought this mag of the bay low and behold pics and report of the 93 Oxford Jam with picks of Jerry Galley and our own Alex Leech.
Also the Lad who finished 6th "Webby"is still riding at Oxford as well.
Glad to see my Jams wer'nt the first in Oxford to be plagued by rain !

Cool, I'm bringing Sir Rad of Hab with me too so should be a good night :daumenhoch:

Thats rad, thanks for posting that Fuzz. Today I walked right past the park where that ramp used to be.
Here is a strange one. Almost everyone who got a photo is still riding.
Jerry: I have heard that he is back around again,
Me: when ever I can
Ian 'Vert squert' Oz: still riding bikes, but not too much BMX (the same Ian who got a picture in BMXA in 1985, see links below)
Tim Ruck: Still riding loads and owns a BMX shop in Exeter
John Barnet: I hear he makes it to the Union Park quite often
John Pratt: Ive not heard from him for ages, but I bet he's up to no good!
I guess is was something in the water back then but that is pretty good going for pictures that are 14 years old!

Alex, do you know what bike Gerry is riding in that totally clicked turn down pic on the first scan?
-
I think it was a skyway TA. Im sure someone will be able to tell. He used to ride whatever junk he got hold of (eg a TA in the early 90s. ha ha sorry, thats how it was). He rode a TA for quite a bit but he also turned up on a DP firebird which was almost a joke frame at that time. Eventually he got a dirtbike and then a HAF. For the longest time he "rode for S&M" and all he got was a pad! I dont think he was ever that pro active about getting anything.
-
It was Jerry who inspired my mate to weld AD lugs onto an old TA and start riding again. 1994. However, at 6'1" and 17 stone, the old Skyway was just a little bit cramped....... ;D
Alex, DJ has the lowdown on Jon Pratt - he's around, I had a chat with him at a show a year or so ago. (might have been NASS, I can't remember). One of the first riders I ever saw backflip; it was either him or Flingham, definately at Southsea. :daumenhoch:

Awesome pics mate :daumenhoch:

Remember that one! jumping into the 'head of the river' I got ill after that too, suspected leptospirosis from the rats piss in the water! :buck2:
Turned out to be a false alarm, & also a great day in Oxford :daumenhoch: Thanks for the memories dude...

top pics and blurb :daumenhoch: Jerry doing 540's on a TA 8)

Ive just noticed that Ian Oz is riding an aero pro burner (I think). He got given it several years earlier by John Povah who used to ride for raleigh. It was another example of people just riding what ever they could get their hands on. A few months ago I ask Ozzer about that frame and he said the last time he saw it the head tube had ripped off. Not surprising really.

alex tbh mate it's not very often i look in mid skool as wasn't my era but man you was a ripper and
gerry he doesn't look any differant today, :daumenhoch:

That is definately Gerry's TA just check the rear stays and the seattube, looks like he hadn't welded his headtube gusset on yet though.

Ah but he did have his bolt on 990 plate that was held down with jubalee clips.
