Here's some footage I found of Carlo and a few others (Dave Voelker) at a KOV contest that I've never seen before, so I guess not too many of you will have seen it either.
Enjoy....

I'm guessing at the moment, but I think it may be 1988. Given by the fact he is still on Skyway and his 540 was below the coping. That would have made him 15/16 at the time.

Now here's part II. Includes Carlo slamming a 540 attempt and also not making a pop out....

Nice find Trev. I never understood how Steve Broderson (good rider BITD) beat me with 540's half way up the transition ??? When I rode in the KOV contest in Vista 1988 Dave Voelker rode in the Pro class against Blyther, Wilkerson, MD, JJ etc. I rode in the 19 over X class with Chris Potts and Broderson etc. That kind of leads me to believe that it is pre-88, but I'm not sure when the KOV series started. Unless it is post 88, in which case either Carlo is over 19 or Potts and Broderson are riding the Pro class at that time.
How do you find the time to find these old videos and old pics Trev?

Been quiet at work and when I get bored I just start browsing...
Carlo is definitely not 19 there. He was still riding for Skyway on there. I think he left Skyway in 1989. He would have only been 17 when he left Skyway. I know in 1988 he was doing 540's out of the top of 1/4 pipes, but can appreciate that would be harder on a bigger vert ramp.
Carlo would have been 19 in 1991 and at that time he was doing 540s about 10 foot out on his vert ramp.

The video must be from 87 then or early early 88. Nice one Trev.
-
In the french subscript that goes with the video it says 14 year old Carlo Griggs
thats the only reason why I quoted he was 14
So it will be >87 then ???

I think I was there, Palais de omnisports, Bercy in Paris 1987
I've got some stills (not very good ones though) I'll have to dig them out. If it was Lee Reynolds was riding as well.

nice find trev :daumenhoch: was '87 paris KOV because carlo is still riding a blue/grey beat and not a aqua/chrome mk2 '88 beat.
didn't he also win that comp?
