have 2 sets...one set stamped sugino on the arms and one stamped redline...
whats the crack here then?
-
They were made by Sugino and i think they sold them under their own name as well as Redline.
-
....I may be wrong.

Yes this is right, made by Sugino & sold as Sugion & Redline.
I could do with a Pair of those ???
-
not a sniff my friend...am building like ten men and i havent got enough sets as it is!!!
ta for the info boys.
-
I think they are a little harder to find than 401s, I have three sets of single pinch 401s, but no 400s :(
-
suginos are the rarer of the two, and also first i believe.
sugino 400's but decaled with redline stickers....

any excuse at all to put a picture of that old haro thing on here :P.

I'd like to get decals for my Sugino 400's but they're harder to get than the crank themselves :-\

I used to have 3 of the 400 crank arms. I think the story was that who ever had them before me had a problem with an arm and he managed to get a warentee replacement. The replacement they sent was the wrong side so they sent him another. It used to really bother me cos 2 of them said Sugino and one said redline. I wanted to have a set that said Redline but I always had to have at least one Sugino. The thing is, I cant remember where I got them or where they went! Ah well, easy come ...

I don't think the Suginos had decals did they? They just sold their sets to Haro etc. to put on their top-end completes.

....again i may be wrong!

NO its true sugino 400's didnt have stickers and they where slightly cheaper than 401's BITD. I bought mine boxed from Ribble cycles preston. :daumenhoch:
and as every one else said they where made by sugino and then sold on to other companys who stuck them on there bikes. I might be wrong here but I think the laserlite ones where stamped sugino.
-
FuNMoNsTeR posted these pics some time ago ... decals are present unless they're cutom made :-\

Thats a lot of money for what were in all honesty pretty crappy cranks! I snapped two sets (one wasn't mine :-[) Mind you look at Aerospeeds!
-
yeah, and Prince Alberts. If they are crap ... there are less of them about now!
I never really saw peregrines as major players in the crank market tho. I guess if they came stock on bikes, its what people want for their builds.

I think the same thing will happen with PA's (making our Alex a millionaire!) How many sets do you have now Alex?

I am in need of an orphan 180mm non-drive 400 arm can't remember which one though, but beggers can't be choosers, so if anyone stumbles across one please let me know :daumenhoch:
