i cant remember seeing any or did they not exist a standard 1" shafted stem my mags dont show any.
-
I dont remember there being one.
DSD and Laz will probably know. Or even the newest member, CustomRiders. They imported Standard from the start.
-
I don't think Standard ever did a shafted stem.
The were pretty much at the forefront of the aheadstem/clamp on revolution.
-
Yep, they were right there on the Clamp on stem thing
Just infront of S&M, and a few years behind Cooks bros. :LolLolLolLol:
-
as im running a tuffneck style gt stem on the standard i need it for another build.
so wanted to see if there was an original standard stem to affix in its place
-
You could try contacting Rick via the Standard website for the definitive answer.
-
i'm wracking my brains dude but for the life of me i cant ever remember seeing one, my magazines are giving up nothing either,
but somewhere in the depths of my warped old memory i have a vague image of one, :LolLolLolLol:
seems like they should have!
-
that gt stem is lovely.
-
thats what i was also thnking ,the 1" frames are kinda scarse so must have been the stems "if "they exist
-
In my mind i'm 100% certain that Standard never did a shafted stem, if it turns out that they did it would be news to me! I have a pic of the first Standard stems but my Photobucket is playing up so heres a link http://www.23mag.com/com/standard/standard.htm
I ran a GT mallet stem on my first STA
-
Nice link. That 23mag has loads of good stuff on it.
It lists people who rode for standard. I didnt know Ian Morris ever rode for them? I know he had a strange little spell on GT tho
-
and no mason smith :-\ a real smooth ramp trooper
-
I don't think Mason was 'on' Standard, just rode one for a while (How i admired his red Lengthy!) As for Ian Morris!!!!! Thats news to me! Do you think it's true?
-
arr might have me getting confused ,he was on the standard, ride road trip so might have been just a guest rad trip
as he was a great rider and a standard importer at customriders.
with karl pentelow, james hitchcox, mike o'connell, paul bromfield, brownie, tommy bowers rad rider and a fair few more.

I was the importer for standard in the nordic countries from 1993 onwards and can definatly say there was no standard shafted stem.
The official stem of the team at that point was TNT shafted stems.
-
Hey, a real answer! Nice one YGT.
TNT stems were what I used till I saw out my shafted days on a redneck.
-
nice on mark best i go dig in my pile of bits for a tnt then :)
o and cheers to everyone elses searching :daumenhoch:
-
I've just sold a TNT stem. Just got back from packing it.
-
tnt made good kit like :daumenhoch:
i had a set of there peacemaker hubs years ago, they never failed :smitten:
the DK shafted stems would be era correct too eh? the slim ones for race and the fat bottomed ones for freestyle/dirt,
the old gt mallet stem that the redneck was based on would be passable too :daumenhoch:
did camacura ever make a shafted quill stem?
-
hmmm not sure i have a few tucked away will dig later peregrine had some but not sure of its strength.
-
im worried that one day youll never return from under your pile of bits......
dan theres a tnt on ebay now.
alex has just sold me his, but if you really need it give me a shout.
-
OR, ive got a great DK freestyle (inverted) stem in the for sale section.
-
i've heard on the grapevine that harris is starting a bmx farm,
there are hoffmans and standards all breeding and shit down there man, like loads of baby stems all clustering round him when
he goes in to check them, kappa's grazing in the fields, peregrine superpro chicks learning to fly,
a wild s&m sabbath in a paddock on its own, one he's trying to tame,
when a "thoroughbred" reaches maturity he catches it with a white sheet and snaps apicture as he lets it go,
"beautiful creatures" or "demonic creations"
-
lol im not that bad am i ???
-
hello boys
i just got home from work, cycling in the pissing rain. the school server has now started blocking radbmx, and with some of the evil kids at the mo i don't even get time to look but i can also definitively say that indeed, standard never ever made a shafted stem!!
and TNT stems were the best shafted ones i ever rode, and i seem to remember bending and breaking a lot of shity 1 inch stems........
here's to a wet NASS!! ;D
-
chris are you working at nass
-
yup. doing the scoring and whatnot, maybe judging, mcing some flat.. and getting the hell out on sunday morning to go see metallica! (aw there's no devil horm rock icon!!)
-
Those trails look like fun :daumenhoch:

YGT, are you still in the distribution business?
I'm looking for distributors for dialled bikes products.
