What happened to all the Hooligans, then?
I've seen very few in the flesh, and McCoy himself was on most of them! There was a frame & forks in the window of The Bike Shop, Lewisham, around 1990-1.
...And that's it! They almost never come up on eBay, the last one I remember was (I think) one of the later models. Seemed more like a flatland bike to me, don't remember McCoy's name being on there.
So did Rob Ridge break them all?

i had one but got nicked back in 97 98 i think ,my favorite bike which was black and had gt hubs on it .wish i still had and yeah i do look for one but as you say never find one
-
i think mason rode one on mini for a while then ad you say they just stopped .
-
I used to ride one of theose in the 90's - it was Mike Jorys old flatland frame, I rode it on ramp, street, everything, and apart from the paper thin droputs,I adored it. I even had 990 mounys welded under the seatstays - it ruled!

I've never seen one with a bashguard!
-
I remember that removable bash guard. I think it was just on the early ones. A mate of mine had one like that. He might still have it but he moved away and I dont know where he is now
-
Jon 'THE KONG' Barnett rode one for a while. I remember them being very short and fairly heavy?
-
Oh yeah, he did ride one for a bit. I think he won it in a contest or raffle or something.

Thats right! I think it was when DMC was in Hastings.
I must confess that it was me that brought 'THE KONG' into the BMX world!
Please forgive me!

Ha ha, how did you do that? You talked him round from his live of kung fu?
He recently popped up on the Union site, riding at "the spot"

Back in about 90/91 'Kongo' and a few of his mates wandered into Split Skates in Manchester asking for whitewall tyres! After falling about laughing for a while I showed them the way and invited them to ride a mini-ramp in Northwich with me,Mad Jon, Ross (Cheeky Monkey) and Splodge (Note Skateshop) They turned up and the rest is history!
I never once mentioned Kung Fu or Kebabs for that matter!

Wasn't Kong British Jap Slap champ at some point?
-
John is a top man. He came all the way down to the ramp in Oxford a few times and also rode in some of the comps there (there is a thread with scans from one of them here somewhere). I havent seen him for ages and ages. Its good to know he is still riding so I might bump into him again one day.
