Title: Hutch colour question
Post by: Nosnod on November 07, 2005, 06:57 PM
My next resto is a Hutch, and I am looking to powdercoat it black. Anyone have any idea what the original Hutch black colour was like ... gloss, matt, metallic, etc ???

were the black hutches painted with some sort of metalflake black? ("metallic" black)

i think it had some sort of hutch-created name.

go with whatever black the powdercoaters have. sure it will look great

danny silverstreak is a dab hand with painting stuff black.

Futuristic black was the colour you speak of, it was on later rides (mainly TS's)

yep that was colour i was thinking

just go for regular powder coat black
most powder coaters have it. probably only whack you 25 shnorks to get it done

I say paint it, with a metal flake paint.

or get it powdered black, then give it the lightest dust with met-silver then laquer

depends how much you wanna engineer the paint.

or the best black you will get is use matt black then a couple of layers of laquer
and that will be the best and deepest black you could ask for
old hot rod tip there for ya  ;)

hutch futurisic black didn`t come out till later on in the years of hutch ,the normal hutch black is as it says . black .but then black hutch`s which are original colour are rare to find ,saying that any hutch that original paint is hard to find as most people repaint them

Paint shades may be different, but there is only one true colour of black, anything else is just dark shades of grey  ;)
