My next resto is a Hutch, and I am looking to powdercoat it black. Anyone have any idea what the original Hutch black colour was like ... gloss, matt, metallic, etc ???
-
just get it chromed badly, then you have a good hutch ;)

Don't powder chromoly, they snap ;) Hutch's do anyway, so no loss there ;D Ad

hey bill you've never seen any poor black colour matching on a car then ? blacks all the same ? no chance... ???
-
Any sensible answers on a postcard please ;D ;D
-
were the black hutches painted with some sort of metalflake black? ("metallic" black)
i think it had some sort of hutch-created name.
go with whatever black the powdercoaters have. sure it will look great
danny silverstreak is a dab hand with painting stuff black.
-
Futuristic black was the colour you speak of, it was on later rides (mainly TS's)
-
yep that was colour i was thinking
just go for regular powder coat black
most powder coaters have it. probably only whack you 25 shnorks to get it done
-
I say paint it, with a metal flake paint.
-
or get it powdered black, then give it the lightest dust with met-silver then laquer
depends how much you wanna engineer the paint.
-
or the best black you will get is use matt black then a couple of layers of laquer
and that will be the best and deepest black you could ask for
old hot rod tip there for ya ;)
-
good tip, you hot-rodder :)
-
matey i asked them what colours the world tour came in :-\ "not a clue" they would rather muck around and give you sh*tty answers ;D im thinking of joining a real bmx forum and getting some real answers ;D
But then again i might not get a laugh ;)

hutch futurisic black didn`t come out till later on in the years of hutch ,the normal hutch black is as it says . black .but then black hutch`s which are original colour are rare to find ,saying that any hutch that original paint is hard to find as most people repaint them
-
just go for black then!!!
it'll look champion
-
I will just go for black then! :D ;D ;D

Paint shades may be different, but there is only one true colour of black, anything else is just dark shades of grey ;)
