Similar but the rear drop-outs are very different.
Does your frame have a brace bar across the lower rear tubes? (I dunno what the hell that bit of the bike is called - behind the seatpost, the lower tubes). :)
-
ammaco had relations with mongoose around that time.
the drops look goosey.
jimmyp and kdw know a bit about old gooses.

superfox
(http://www.30cms.net/Assets/fox19841.jpg)
shitty pic but it's this frame i am pretty sure!
they originally came with aero forks with "aero dyna" written on them
the one above has different forks though
-
How about this?
Silverfox?

yeh silver and super were the same i think
just different components
the super was a higher spec
and it had the aero forks - like yours!!
they did change though. some didn't have gussets at all. then they did. then they didn't . . .
super lightweight bikes too.
-
Excellent.
So...if I found one of these, it would be a pretty good score yeah? :D
-
well, i like them ;)
there was a dealer in cannock (near where i live stafford) that used to stock the whole mt racing / fox range so there was a few in stafford. they were good solid bikes. a little flimsy though, but fine when you are a skinny little kid! like most o/s bikes.
i have some hi res art for the downtube decals somewhere, that i redrew for a mate of mine's superfox that he was restoring
-
looks like the silver or super fox is a good match on that frame
should be a good resto but those rear drops look totaly wasted
-
Just found a pic of all the fox's and it doesn't look completey like any one of them? ??? but as you mentioned some later ones with the little gussett you could be right? ;)
-
not sure whether it was later or earlier that had the gussets
the ones around my way were bought in 83-84 and they all had the gussets
the non gusset ones, i don't think they had the "aero-dyna" forks either!
