Title: Browning 2 Speed - Anyone remember them?
Post by: Del on July 12, 2007, 07:51 AM
I was sifting through an old BMX nag the other night and came across an old advert for the Browning 2 Speed Chainwheel, I was just wondering if anyone actually had one of these BITD? I've never figured out how they work.

Hey Del

If I remember rightly the gear change was activated by a brake lever. I have seen pics of Eric Rupe aboard his 24’‘ Mongoose with two levers and a rear mech but no front brake!

Other riders to to use the system were Darryl Young and I saw Gary Lewellyn using it at a UKBMX Schweppes National in 85/86 at Whitehaven
