Title: Brettons track - remember it?

I had a few races at Brettons, and really loved it! Especially the mental 1st straight - I'm sure I got to warp speed on my way down towards the 1st berm.

Well, I went there to day after popping over badbmx to have a look.

It's really overgrown! BIG TIME!!

Here's some pics - wonder if you can remember how it used to look?

The start gate is still there - Can't believe how small it is! (prob just about a foot tall!)

View from 1st corner looking back up the 1st straight. See what I mean about being able to get to warp speed? It was mentally downhill!

From start hill showing 1st corner on left - second corner was below the fork in the track leading onto 3rd(final) corner.

thats a crying shame its been left to the elements

i raced there meself ,could have been the late 80,s i think :angel:


on a borrowed bike and i think i got a third
i do recall the guy on the mic
announcing me as a old schooler back then  ;D

and as roonga says
that 1st straigh to berm ws indeed light speed
and the last straight up hill was a leg killer

rode there in me lunch breaks with me work pal knobby
every other day .as we rode rom too lol
loved to jump the camel humps backwards
ie wrong way round the track

I miss fast downhill tracks, I never got to race there as it was built after I quit :-[ Great pics Paul...
