Title: Chorley in the infamous whoops incident
Post by: mike pardon on November 10, 2005, 12:58 PM: Okay here a picture of me (yawn) i wondered did anyone remember this day? It was around 82 and Chorley bmx club where running a national meeting. In there wisdom they decided to ban riders from jumping the whoops during the race... I mean can you believe it??? It s true. So it created anarchy. Everyone jumped them. Terry Lloyd got off his bike leading the race and carried it over the whoops..Result: instant ban.
I jumped them as you can see while Mike Chilvers (a real blast from the past rode them like a good citizen) Result instant ban!!!

It was a great moment in Bmx history...I hope someone out there remembers it.. It may have led to the beginning of the infamous "Bastard at the track " t-shirt affair

I wish they would have had a roll though rule at Bournemoth national this year, I might have got top 3, and Cheddar tripples too when I think about it. ;)
