I found this old program from one of the King of the Skatepark competitions at Rom. A few of the riders have obviously signed the front cover too.... (a bit sad I know but give me a break, I was only about 13!) :-[
Billy I see you signed the top left hand corner. Do you remember this comp and what year it was?
-
Billy Stupple Skyway #1
Did he sign that last week ;D ;D
-
Sept 84 wasn't it .......................
-
It was in 84, I thought it was August though ???
That was my autograph back then, as I was on the team first before Craig Campbell and Paul Hudson, I did think of changing it when Craig won that comp, but he said not to bother, as if I needed telling twice ;D
-
;D ;D
-
Anyone know the results?
What you get Billy?
-
2nd for me :(
-
So Bill, is this the comp you reckon I judged? :-\
-
Yep, fook knows why I thought that, was you there that day Rob?
-
Would I have known Neil Stevens, the name sounds familier, fook my brain is fooked I can`t remember nothing ???
-
I have no clue.....
I'm also a little confused as to why I wasn't riding; Glyn was there so, so should I have been.. Unless my knee was blown out - it was pretty regular back then. :(
And where was Chris Young?
Maybe I did judge, a last-minute thing perhaps?
-
I remember someone saying "I had something to do with that" meaning Craig coming first in every element then " don`t get mad get even" meaning I was pissed at coming second, and I thought it was you Rob, but I seem to remember the name `Neil Stevens` from somewhere, perhaps it was him ???
-
Neil Stevens was an MRD rider
few years old than all the others!!!
he must be mid 40's by now. bit of a "groundwork" man
he's in the action bike book!
-
Ruler. Are you suggesting Neil Stevens was crap at freestyle?
admittedly, he didn't pull 10 ft lookbacks out of any bowl... yeah, and he was about 45 years old, even then!
-
no by "groundwork" i mean that was what it was called before it was known as flatland
he was there in the early days with the ground moves
one of the original flatland riders in the UK!!!
-
neal stevens had a lot of hair as well .blowing in the wind ;D
-
a top event and it didn't rain although it looked like it was going to all day.never knew anything about neil ruffell until that day but WOW and marco lara was also nuts...
-
