soon as i saw them for sale, i wondered why? Matt?
-
well it was a tough desicion but im out, im selling everything apart from my daily rider and my pro class, im still going to use this site and come to the meets but no more collecting for me :'(
-
Fair play, i keep thinking what i could make up with the cash if i sold the Torker and TA. Only the tennis elbow keeps me thinking all i might have left is the collecting in a while...
-
very nice stu.keep that gold plating well away from them old mate ;).
-
Whoa, those are so nice !! Amazing rides !! I love old DB's too. That is another dream bike I wish I could own......I think I have the most awesome DB grips for somebody that I am willing to trade for some good stuff, the grips are NOS Oakley B-1B in Black and Gray, perfect for a DB.....I was going to put them on my LaserLite but went with all black grips instead.
Awesome bikes !!

I used to look at the Hl Turbo in the window of Alec Greens bikes in Birkenhead and DREAM.As i remember it was about £350 new (well it was in Alecs anyway) and that was a Sh#t load of cash for 1984.It took ages to sell it as it was so expensive.
Very lovely choices there, you lucky man.I liked my Silver Streak but it just wasnt a Turbo :'( :'( :'(

I remember that place Stu.
We used to get the train up there, as there were no shops with bikes like that where we lived.
Saw my first Kuwahara there mate, we would go just to look at the bikes in the shop, and then use our SaveAway tickets to get back home !!

if anyone is interested i have another turbo lite frame, forks, stem and bars up for grabs ;)
-
i thought you sold that or is this a new one
-
yes it was sold, posted it to austrailia about 2 months ago, the buyer asked for thier money back as it never turned up, and hey presto it came back to me, the box was damaged and the only thing they could read on it was my address, so its up for grabs again
-
Stu them bikes are what dreams are made of, you are one lucky Dude :)
Sam reading your post about Alec Green's brought meories flooding back. I use to ride up there every Sat for a look in the window and ride round Derby square. Do you remember Bob the sales assistant?. As for the HL it never did get sold it got stolen. The lad who took it was a couple years older than me at school and he turned up at school on it. He thought if he stripped it to the chrome no one would reconise it, every kid in Birkenhead did and so did the police :police:
Did you ever venture up to Heswall cycles?
Flake.

Turbos are one of the most aesthetically pleasing rides in my opinion. Those two are beauties Stu..... Like Stu said the smoked chrome does it. First one i saw in the flesh was being ridden by Dale Goodwin at Toms Tigers track in Gainsborough. He later went on to hold the UK car jumping record(6 at that time i think).... I have jumped 3.......... but 6 ???
Looks like my Turbo will be delayed.... thats if i get it at all... I won the bike and paid for it 6 days ago.. The guy still hasnt mailed me a shipping cost and i havent heard from him for 5 days... I am beginning to fear the worst. It took me 2 years on the sausage roll to scrimp and save up enough cash to start collecting and now i think some American is gonna rip me off :'(
We shall see. :santa_undecided:
