Title: Latest TA
Post by: CD17 on August 20, 2007, 09:12 PM
Ok this is the TAXL I got off Rhys, which was chrome, but needed welding around the seatpost  :(

So I got it welded & blasted, then off to Superbikedan for some powder  :smitten:

Then collecting & refurbing all the right parts to make it the same as the one I had BITD.

Now all I need is a Pro model Tuff Neck Stem, some Star Bars  ::)  a Chain & some Black & silver Tech 5s, then it will be the same spec as I had & sold for Feck all BITD.

That looks sweet Chris, how much work was needed to repair the crack?

Not much, it was just a small crack about 20mm around the seat tube, I got it Tig Welded, then filed it down. Cost me £20 for the welding which I think is pretty good & the guy who welded it makes frames for Racing Motorbikes, he said it should be as strong now as it was before it got cracked, but I think if I ride it I might put a straight seat post in  :-\

No sorry, I didn't like the way it looked + I decided to try & built it as I had it BITD, so I sold it.

I still need some StarBars to get it just right, I think these will be the hardest part to find  ???

But Im sure I will find some one day  :-\
